Not sure about the Defender, but the YT-2400 appears in Episode IV flying over the Mos Eisley space port.

Edited by AzrapseDefender has been stated as canon due to inclusion in Star Wars: Commander, because of an article that stated all the ships and stuff in the game would be canon but not the experience players have with them... which is a weird statement but seemed to indicate it includes canon material.
I've always like the Sentinel-class Shuttle since I got one in the old SW CCG, and it's canon. I wonder what the odds are we'll see one? I imagine it as being a beefier Lambda (complete with Sensor and Cannon slot), with another Crew slot, a Missile slot, and a Combat Upgrade title that adds 2 hull and a shield for a bucket of points.
Fun fact, every wave in the game has had a canon ship.
Wave 4: Defender
Wave 5: YT-2400
Wave 6: Y-wing
Wave 7: YV-666
Have the Defender or the YT-2400 actually been confirmed as canon yet?
Azrapse and Ixidor nailed it. 2400 appears in a cameo like the sentinel, and Defender appears in a game that uses canon material.
It seems that the Scum faction needs another Small base ship to catch up (7 each for Imps and Rebels), and the Rebels need another Large base (3 each for Imps and Scum).
This could fit well with Mist Hunter and Ghost.
Scum could gain an entry in the Huge category, I guess. Seems a bit out of character, perhaps.
Other ideas:
Y-wing S3 upgrade card (1 point) add a crew slot to Y-wing.
Crew: Dak Ralter
Crew: Wes Janson
Bow*
I was going to do Bow, but the Gimli face was too funny to not skip Legolas. ![]()
Turreted Tie Fighters for Ficklegreendice & Co. whine about incessantly for the next 2 years.
Really hope for a torpedo fix in whatever comes in that wave. Something interesting and fun is all I ask.
The TIE Sentinel could work as a turreted TIE, We know absolutely nothing about it besides what it looks like but there are what appear to be at least two rear facing lasers that can swivel vertically though I'm not sure about rotation.
Regarding the at least one canon ship per wave thing there are still plenty of canon ships to choose from. Yeah it is interesting how it breaks down. All the ships in the first three waves are canon then four is half canon and half Legends while five is back to all canon then for six all of the standalone ships are Legends but a couple from the most wanted pack are canon while seven has one canon ship.
It will be interesting to see if the Raider becomes canon soon. Rebels is set just after the raider entered production the the heroes could encounter one, or perhaps steal one in a raid. I would love to see a rebel raid capture the raider just due to the irony factor of a Raider being raided or becoming loot from a raid. Even if it never appears in Rebels it might show up in some of the futre canon OT era material or the material between the OT and the ST, maybe even the ST itself.

Orrrr Clawcraft and Ghost.
I second the S3 title with Janson as a crew.

That means the Decimator, HWK, Z-95(non-clone version), Chiss, and Dark Troopers are now officially cannon again.

They aren't, they're canon.
Edited by YwingAceI'd like to think they will announce the following at Gen Con:
Scum:
small base G1-A "Mist Hunter" (Zuckuss & 4-LOM)
small base JM-5000 "Punishing One" ( Dengar)
Imps:
small base XG-1 Assault Gunboat
Rebels:
small base VCX auxillary starfighter "Phantom"
large base VCX-100 "Ghost
Imp/Rebel/Scum release:
large base Skip Ray Blastboat
Scum:
huge base Action VI transport "Wild Karrde"
With that, we'd have balance in the Force(s), fulfill our Bounty Hunters from ESB quota, tip our hat to some of the best writing in the EU (Zahn), and delve into SW:Rebels (to the delight of some, and to the chagrin of others).

Like it. But would the JM5000 be small or large?
But would the JM5000 be small or large?
Well, according to wookieepedia it is slightly longer than the aggressor, so I would expect large.
Edited by ForgottenloreThe JM-5000 certainly could be classified as large.
It is the same length as the Lambda-class shuttle (20m).
Other sources say it's a "starfighter", and it can only carry 2 people.
The B-wing is 17m long, and the HWK-290 is 29m, so I could see this ship being small based.

The B-Wing stands vertically, though. and the HWK is... open to interpretation.
We could also see a new mechanic introduced: the carried ship!
Ghost could carry (and deploy, mid-battle) the Phantom.
The Action VI could carry/deploy 1 starfighter.
This mechanic could be used for the SW:Rebels Gozanti-class to deploy 4 TIE fighters in the future.

True.
I am mostly going by symmetry, here.
If JM-5K is small then each faction would have 8 small craft.
If it is large, then Scum have 4 large, Imps have 3, Rebels have 2 (not counting Ghost).
It is this Large ship imbalance that has me dreaming of our first, out of the box tri-faction ship: the Skipray blastboat.
Besides length, the small-based HWK has a crew of 2 + room for 6 passengers. It is a freighter, after all.
The JM-5K has a crew of 1 + 1 passenger. Seems small-ish.

A tri-faction Skipray would be cool but did the rebels use enough of them to justify it. I'm sure they had a few but were there any stories involving rebel Skiprays?

Multi-faction ships blow.

I hear ya, and can sympathize with the sentiment to some degree.
I bet it will happen, though.
Skipray could be just a dual faction (Imp/Scum) ship, but then the large ship count would be way off (although that wouldn't be too bad, I suppose).
I consider the Raider to be a full counter to both CR90 and GR75 together, for instance.
Talon Karrde also strikes me neutral, but neither Scum nor a Villain.
So far Rebels=good guys, Imps=bad guys and Scum=non-Imp bad guys.
Edited by evangerI'd personally like to complete my light freighter trifecta by adding the Ghost. Doesn't look as good as either YT, but I'd certainly add it to my collection.

EXCUSE ME! The Light Freighter trifecta is YT-1300, 2400 and 2000.
I still think the Star Jewel is sort of the natural choice for Scum huge, with maybe the Action and Gozanti filling the GR75 holes in Scum and Imperial fleets down the line (I know Gozanti would make more sense as rebel in the incredibly loose timeframe we're working with...maybe I just like Mel's Imperial model too much). The Jewel brings in a recognized OT character and is the right size to hang with the Raider and CR90. The dawn of dual-crew upgrades and a Z95 deployment mechanic could be further hints in this direction, but who knows.
Anyways I'd love to get one when it comes out for my retirement in 2055.
