I'm betting that Wave 8 will be focused around Episode 7 and will include a new The Force Awakens starter set. Probably very similar to the current starter set but with an X-Wing and 2 TIE Fighters based on the new movie. An updated Rulebook using Episode 7 images and including FAQ and rule changes since the first edition. And this cards will provide the much anticipated "X-Wing fix".

Oh I hope there are ships from The Force Awakens in wave 8. Though truthfully, I think a new boxed set for them would be a good place.
Does that count as a new wave? Isn't it more like an Aces Pack?
If it's released as a single blister expansion alongside other ships and is announced as "Wave 8", then it would be part of Wave 8. If it was released in a box entitles "Aces Pack", it would be an Aces pack.
I don't believe that anyone's ever said a new wave has to only contain new ships (or that an Aces Pack must only contain existing ones, for that matter).
But anyway, considering the timeline for a potential Wave 8 would probably coincide with the holiday season/New Year, then it wouldn't at all be surprising to see the Force Awakens X-Wing and/or Force Awakens TIE fighter as part of it.

We'll find out in the next few months. It's quite possible that we'll get at least one of those ships in Wave 8.
I am cool with all of it coming out at some point.
I will again point out that gameplay needs might overrule the "what ship is left" philosophy.
1. The Empire is missing a small turret ship.
2. The Rebels are missing a Cloak ship
3. Scum are missing both.
Asymmetric warfare is asymmetric. I would put forth that the empire don't need a small turret ship, instead having the rear arc firespray.
Rebels don't need no stinking cloak.
Scum have weird arcs too with Spray and toothy. oh and Y-wings. and HWKS.. So really they have all the small turret.
I'm not saying that the Empire won't get a TIE Aggressor for example for a small turret(really rear arc) or Rebels won't get some nifty cloak ship. But they don't need them just because the opposing faction has them.
Always drives me nuts when people suggest the yts get remade as scum. That would pretty much leave rebels with what the b wing and e wing as the only ships that scum doesn't share.
Rebels can have the nova, and military issue ships.
Fact remains that the YT series were used by scum/pirates more so than the rebels. and let us never forget that Han Solo did not start as a rebel. Just like the firespray, the YT should also be scum for logics sake and nought else.
Yeah I agree that there should be a scum YT-1300 as well as a rebel one. I think they will run out of rebel fighters soon unless they include a lot more new resistance fighter models in the Force Awakens then we have seen so far, the Rebels cartoon includes some new rebel fighter models, or they dip into the fighters primarily used by scum but also known to be used by rebels like the R-41 and T-Wing.
If this is a vote thing, I'm for Dengar.
In all likelihood, we'll have to wait a while for him though.

The New Scum/Rebel ship the Q-wing
coming wave 8. Only has hard right turns on the dial. 1 right hard is red, 2 right hard is white, and 3 right hard is green. Only action is a barrel roll and has 1 firepower 5 agility 0 shields and 2 hull (since one hit on a rock is enough to destroy it.)

Which makes me think that some of the ships I predicted for Wave 7 will move to Wave 8.
The Havoc is in Armada. The Punishing One has been hinted at by the designers. So they're bound to come out at some point.
The Star Wing is a huge fan favorite, but every Imperial small ship has been a TIE of some sort. Will this be the wave that they break out of the TIE rut? The XG-1 is a prime candidate since it's prominently displayed in the RPG and in video games.
The VCX-100 is a long shot. Rebels have a lot of turret large ships. And the big question would be whether the named pilot would be Kanan Jarrus or Caleb Dume.
I like the art work but once wave 7 hits there will be 9 ships for Rebels Imperials and Scum. So I think the next wave will have only 3 ships and any other waves will be in increments of 3. 1 for the Rebel, 1 for Scum and 1 for Imperials.

I think your math is off. After Wave 7, there will be 10 ships for Rebels, 10 ships for Imperials, and 9 for Scum. None of those numbers include Epic ships.
I only really want to see the ESB bounty hunters - so the punishing one and mist hunter please FFG!

You'd think they'd have to have something for their biggest earner, X-Wing, and historically they have...
IMHO they're going to do a tie-in with VII for the next wave, which makes a reveal at GenCon difficult as I believe all VII merch reveals are slated for September (Lego, Kenner, etc...)
I predict howls of disappointment as a "mere" Aces pack is revealed at GenCon, with an announcement in September of wave 8 with episode VII ships included...
I think the wave 7 stuff will be aces packs, so maybe we get wave 8 because it's NOT ep. 7 related.
Maybe a scum epic release as well. Jabba is obviously on the way with the 2-crew slot Emperor out there.

Hold hope, but not your breath - I'd say if you see a prequel ship in Rebels or the any of the new movies then it's likely, but otherwise I wouldn't get my hopes up

The first anthology Star Wars movie is set just before episode IV, so there is a chance that you may see some prequel/clone wars ships in that, although it's more than likely going to go the Rebels route and show us OT favourites and maybe anything they have introduced for episode VII...

Rebels has already shown a lot of Clone Wars/prequel ships. The Gozanti-class, the Arquitens-class, the Pelta-class.
Other ships like the ARC-170 have appeared as wreckage.

If they really do this i might get a bit angry. Because in the end its just another paint job variance on the model for ships that most ppl already have a trillion times.
