Wave 7 Article is up!

By Crabbok, in X-Wing

Well bummer... i was kinda hoping for an ordinance fix that would encourage me to fit missiles onto my A-Wings and such.

That already happened. It's called Proton Rockets.

True! Proton Rockets are pretty hot! One trick pony though I think. I've been using over expose and outmanuever to try and beef up an A Wing after the ordinance is used up.

*shakes 8-ball*

All Indicators Point Towards Yes.

Second Quarter 2015?

Can't wait to pick them up in November!

Uhhhh, yeah. When I saw that at the end of the article, I laughed out loud. Like, a belly laugh. That's not even a realistic thing for FFG to say, let alone truthful. They really think they're going to get Wave 7 onto store shelves by June 30 when it hasn't even gone to the printer yet and the Raider hasn't gone on the boat yet? I don't think so. We'll be playing with these things in October, shortly before Worlds happens, not counting the inevitable early release at GenCon in late July — which is still not quarter two.

Looks like they've updated the article to say Third Quarter now...

Which likely means GenCon.

Okay for the freighter:

PS6

You...

(a word that starts with 'w' cant make out the rest of it)

in-?....

PS5

when ...

on all?...

lock ...

reduce ...

Now, it has two large ship only cards that read: Ion Pr- (protection?)(projector?)(pricing?)(production?)

After? ...

executes ...

causes? ....

ship, roll....

a [kaboom] or ....

enemy ...

1 ion token.

Is this a better pursuit laser? I hope this isn't a discard effect, because holy crap. I swear to GOD, if this is scum only, I will lose it!

Maneuvering fins:

YV666 only

When preforming ...

maneuver, ...

increase on-? ...

by 1 (turn?) ...

The "twin ion" card I believe to be a title: Twin Ion Engine Ace, that seems to affect movement of some sort.

Reached my daily like quota going through these threads, sad times... (wonder why there's even a quota)

Looks like they've updated the article to say Third Quarter now...

Which likely means GenCon.

Of what year?

Was pointed out by rsixidor on reddit but could the PS6 Punisher pilot be none other than "Deathfire" McDibs? (Possibly shortened to just "Deathfire" but I really hope they kept in McDibs)

I hope the fix to missiles and torpedoes is not just make new upgrade cards that are better than the old one. That is how power creep starts to get out of control.

In almost every other instance I would agree with you about power creep. but I think fixing ordnance may require a "clean sheet" approach, and that may, unfourtunately, cause some older ordnance to become obsolete. I, too am very cautious about power creep, and I think the punisher is a great example of that, but I hope I am wrong. I would accept a Proton torpedo mark II that fixed the problems we have and made ordnance viable, even if it meant retiring the original. I'm open to other solutions mind you, but i think they may just have to bite the bullet and allow some retiring of those gen 1 ordnance cards.
