It might be official as he receives it. Certainly as we hear it from him is not technically official, but that doesn't mean the information isn't official in general.

I don't have the budget to buy as much of either wave as I'd like, but I have no complaints about wave 2 getting here as soon as possible. Wave 1's gonna be really nice to have, but half the ships are standalone ships from the core set with new cards, and I don't really care for the looks of the MKII or the Gladiator. Out of wave 1 it's the fighter packs that I'm itching for most. Not that it'll stop me from buying at least 1 of each new set, however. But wave 2 is what's got me really exited. ISD, Home One, fighter pack with Slave I and Millenium Falcon? The sooner the better!

Wasn't the original release for the Core Set and Wave 1 supposed to be the end of 2014? A July release for Wave 2 makes sense. Remember, there was the West Coast Port strike/slowdown that messed up a lot of shipping of products. This could very well be the original timeline that FFG wanted, it simply didn't work out that way in practice thanks to real world problems.

I don't think the plan was to have 2 waves released so close together, but I don't think they want to delay wave 2 just because wave 1 was.

If wave 1 has been held up, and it very likely was due to the issues on the docks... Then Wave 2 could be not far behind it.

But with X-Wing at least, FFG has been very consistent on stuff taking about 10 weeks after the status goes to 'On the Boat'...

That means if Wave 2 was put on the boat on Friday, the soonest it would be in stores is 1st week of July.

Newt, Any word yet on Wave 1? Do we think it will be April or are the fates and Force leaning toward early May? Any projections?

He had mentioned on another post a couple of days ago that it was still looking to be the last week of April or the first week of May. I would think April 29th or May 6th.

Since it's produced in the same place as that other game, using the same methods, and shipping, then logically the process and therefore timing will be the same.

He was correct with his information about the core set release, and remember, the core set released really weirdly with no real lead up or announcement, yet Newt knew exactly when it'll be shipping a week before FFG posted the update.

It's not super secret information. FFG sends these updates to all of their B2B customers.
