Plasteel Staff in The Force Awakens

We expect Rey to get Luke's lightsaber, which was Anakin's lightsaber later on, if she is familiar with melee weapons, like a Plasteel Staff, it may explain any fight scenes we hope to see her in once she starts using a lightsaber.

All the above is but fanboy conjecture, with the odds less than surviving in an asteroid belt being followed by the Death Squadron, but it's a Monday, and dat's how we do.

It's probably a tool or measuring device of some sort and not a weapon.

the lightsaber handed to the girl ("my sister has it too") looks like vaders.

if I recall correctly, wasnt vaders lightsaber lost?

Luke cut off vaders hand which fell down the shaft.

Vader's saber has more black on it (including at the top of the hilt next to the blade). He designed it much like his original one, which only has black on the grip.

The saber in the trailer is Anakin's blue lightsaber, which was taken by Obi-Wan and given to Luke, who lost it in Empire.

It's Anakin's original, which Obi-wan took at the end of E3, and gave to Luke in E4. Luke lost in in E5. Vader's is very similar, but different.

Well it looks like I called that one right!

I got a fever, and the only prescription is more Plasteel Staff!

Jump to around 1:20 to see Rey using the staff. Yes, it's Disney Infinity, but if you've seen Ahsoka in action, the animation is fairly accurate to the character. There's another video of her fighting with the staff somewhere, but I couldn't find that one.
