Likelihood of Wave 7 ships being $19.99 MSRP

By MechGumbi, in X-Wing

Looking at the size of the TIE-Punisher & K-Wing, does anyone else think that they will be packaged in "medium" blisters like the StarViper and cost us $19.99 retail? I think it is very likely with the K-Wing, and probable with the TIE.

Also the size of the Hound's Tooth, makes it look like it is getting the Decimator treatment, so larger packaging and $39.99 MSRP.

I estimate that Wave 4 will cost about $90-95 retail, plus tax, for one of each ship!

Pre-order from somewhere that offers a deal. ;)

never tell me the odds

I think it very likely that the 2 bombers will be $20 each. Not sure about the tooth though, I didn't think it looked that big.

My usual budget for a wave is $100-150, split between FLGS and online. I plan on 1-2 each of the Punisher and K-wing, 2-3 Kihraxz fighters, and 1 Hound's Tooth. If you're right about the pricing, that's $165 MSRP, which means it ought to fit neatly into that same budget.

The K and the Punisher being 19.95 wouldn't surprise me. The other small ship will likely be 14.95 though.

At first I figured the Tooth would probably be a 29.95, but after refreshing my memory on the ship, 39.95 is possible. It's 3x as large as the IG2000. It's a larger ship than the MF or Decimator. They'll have to scale it down a bit to fit the game, but they'll keep it pretty big and sell it at the higher price point I bet.

The days of cheap waves are long past.

Remember that larger blisters means twice as many upgrade cards. Given this is the ordnance fixing wave I'd say this is actually quite probable.

Tooth 39.95

Punisher 29.95

K-Wing 14.95

Kihraxz 14.95

My predictions based off previous models / sizes

I imagine they make better margins with mediumship cost and have the same concern just hoping to wait and see

ironically the IG 88 was quite a small model for a large ship and if you compare cards from say a lambda or Falcon or slave 1 it was a lot less but I guess we will wait and see

Package size/weight is probably the main determinant of cost. These things ship across the globe from manufacturers to retailers. The difference in plastic volume per mini is probably insignificant, unless it affects quality control.

The Kihraxz is definitely $15.

The Hound's Tooth is tough. It isn't as massive as the Decimator, though pretty long. I'm thinking $30 is still likely.

I think the K-wing and Punisher can fit into a standard case, so $15 is still possible.

The K-wing, definitely. Hard to say with the Punisher. I think it could fit in regular, maybe.
Hound's Tooth will likely be okay in the regular $30 box. Really don't wanna shell out $45 for, as someone eloquently put it,
a ship that looks like a Sandcrawler with a spaceship shoved up its ass

Not too surprised; the K and Punisher look pretty big. The tooth coming in at $40 doesn't feel great, but that's the same cost as the decimator, so we shouldn't be surprised there either.

I feel that FFG was testing the price raising waters with decimator and starviper. That said they are big ships. I think the K-wing will be about as big as the aggressor
