Why aren't we talking about SLAM?

So the only pics I've seen of the K-Wing are blurry and I cannot make out specific images of actions, so if you've got a clear one please link it.

And if it has a new action - my guess would be an action that lets you fire a missile or torpedo. So you can potentially fire twice. This would also allow a modification that grants this particular action to a ship. THAT could be the ordnance fix. That could also be the thing that makes the K-Wing better, because it can take a separate modification since it has that ability naturally.

Except that 1) doesn't make ordnance itself any more effective as there's still the action economy issues with most of them and 2) only benefits ships that can hold more than one torp/missile. The X-wing, Advanced, A-wing, both YTs, Firespray, Defender, E-wing, Z-95, Syck with Title, and anything else I'm forgetting are still stuck with that Torpedo/Missile slot largely being useless.

Wookipedia only explains the practical part about speed, it's an article stub that ignores the larger picture that faster ships shoot faster missiles.

I would be disappointed if this were the 'fix', as it doesn't really fix anything.

aye, I still hold that the problem with ordinance still lies in the cards and base rules (too restrictive and one-shot only)

the dice variance in this game is too **** high for dice-dependent upgrades that you can only use once

I would argue that it does fix one of the biggest issues - that being you end up paying 4 or 5 points for a one shot attack that is only 1 or two dice higher than your normal attack. If you can fire that missile during the activation phase, and then still have your normal attack, then those 4 or 5 points essentially net you 4 or 5 dice instead of just 1 or 2. (I'm factoring in the fact that you can also shoot as normal during the combat phase). Plus the added benefit that you can shoot during activation, thus being able to get someone before they arc dodge you.

I doubt it would be the only fix however. I think whatever wave 7 introduces regarding ordnance will be a multi-part solution. I think we'll see this new action, whatever it is, PLUS some new ordnance, plus perhaps a new Pilot Skill or two, and then also perhaps a new pilot or two which take advantage of all of these things. Maybe there's a K-Wing pilot that makes all your Y-Wings better if they have 2 torpedoes. Maybe there's a Punisher pilot that synergizes really well with Jonus - (Sample ability - when firing a missile, any time you coudl reroll a die, you may opt to leave the die alone and instead, remove one green die from the defender's pool). Something to that effect, because that actually sounds slightly OP as I type it.

It depends on how the action works.

if it assigned you a token that can be spent in place of a target lock - but doesn't carry the restrictions of a target lock - it could work pretty well - especially if you didn't remove it at the end of a turn
