...it's a rare?
Wtfwhy? This WHOLE TIME I thought it was a common!
Has anybody used it? Does it seriously deserve to be a rare?

rarely does a foundation allow you to give either a speed buff or dmg buff...atm not thata many punches but in a few sets im sure we will know
It's a lesser case of Shockwave Palm to me. Unless it's designed specifically with a near-future release in mind, this should be uncommon at best. It's the kind of rare that would make me frown if I pulled it. If I wanted a rare foundation, gimme something like Need to Destroy...it would even make my Shockwave Palm worth running.
Speed Pump is so rare in the format right now. Maybe thats why? IDK it is a good card but getting 4 is proving to be a hassle im at 3 right now though so I am almost there.
Eh, I look at Merciless Fighter. Gives ANY attack +2 damage, CAN give +4, and it's a common. Boxing is limited in what it can do, but is rare.
It just...I think they needed another rare, looked at it and went: OMFG IT HAS STEVE FOX, ERGO, WE OUGHT TO MAKE IT FRIGGEN RARE JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER CARD IN THE SET THAT DOESN'T BELONG TO A CHARACTER AND THEIR SUPPORT!
Bluub...yeah, being rare kinda sucks since people actually DO want it XD

I agree with this, but do not blame them for not making the 'penultimate rarity choices', or at least ones that you or I would have made.
If you want some I have some for trade, I need to email you the Temujin deck anyways, maybe we can arrange some sends that away, connecting playgroups helps both of them grab the cards they need. And, odd as you may think it sounds, I trust you enough to send you cards

I use this card. I like it. And, let's be honest, not every R or UR card printed sees play. It's been this way since day 1 of UFS. Boxing Is Life isn't a horrible card, just not as functional in every deck, since it only boosts punches.
you want to talk about crappy rares look at killer android.....
if u have an asset killer android stops Kazuya lol

True but when you pull 2 of those in packs at a pre-release you kinda hate it

Yeah that does kinda suck haha
I think Rare is exactly the right rarity for the card.
Rare should not be uber-powerful. Rare should be medium-powerful or niche. This is why character assets and foundations that support a particular theme are usually rare: they're niche. Not everyone wants them, so you don't want to pull them in droves.
There aren't enough punches out there right now to make it so that you want to see a Boxing is Life in every pack. Only folks building punch decks want them.
Now, for folks building Steve, Boxing is Life and Gut Driller (did I get that right?) are extremely chase cards, as is Law's multiple punch UR.
There's nothing wrong with that. Let go of "rare should make me drool" and try out "rare should be a card I only want sometimes."
Would you seriously have preferred Paul's super-powerful stuff like Rivalry with a Bear and For the Money to have been the Rares? Isn't it nicer to be able to build a theme Paul deck easily, and have to work to build a quality Steve?

You sir... read my mind. I couldn't have said it better.

Start Over is now better than Infiltrating

oh my god you don't (shouldn't?) even need an asset, Kazuya is an ability that destroys assets so it can be negated

Kazuya does not specifcly say assets he says all non character cards so I am pretty sure they would need an asset. Actually with te wording of Killer android it kind of seems that the ability would only have to destroy an asset for it to negate but I am not sure.

I respectfully disagree, though I see where you're coming from.
For me, when I buy a box of 24 boosters, I think to myself, "Well, I can't count on god packs anymore. So basically I can expect a combined total of only 24 rares or ultra-rares. I want those select few to be worth pulling." I want to pull something that gives me the feeling of, there's only so many of these, I can't wait to run it. Not, of all the rare cards I could have gotten, I would never run this card. Cards that are super conditional should, in most cases, be uncommon. You don't get them all the time, but they're there in case you want to try something different.
Also, traditionally character assets are actually ultra-rare in most cases. Both Capoeira Style and Close friends are commons, and they are just as niche as Boxing is Life. Again, not trying to be like "so there", just naming specifics to back up my reasoning.
