If I have the Hand of the King title, how can the 2 influence be used? For example, if I have core Renly in play (www.tzumainn.com/agot/cards/card.php) then I can "kneel 1 influence to stand Renly Baratheon". If I have no other source of influence other than Hand's, can I stand Renly only once (e.g. the extra influence is 'lost'), or could I somehow stand him twice by remembering that I had a point of influence "left over"? I'm guessing the former. Presumably in either case the card with the title on it is the thing which is getting knelt?

From the Core Set rules:

"When an event or triggered ability requires you
to kneel a certain amount of influence, you must
kneel characters or locations that provide at least
that much total influence. Any remaining influence
you kneel is lost. This means you cannot
save influence that was “overpaid” after kneeling
an influence-providing card to pay for an effect."

So this carries over to the title as well. You cannot "remember" that you have 1 influence left on the title if you use its 2 influence to pay for a 1-influence effect.
