Armada 180pt Tournament Report

A rebel list that I made with one core that does alright is Corvette B with Dodanna and Dodanna's Pride, Neb B Refit with Redemption, 2x X-Wing and Luke. Obj cards are Precision strike, Fleet Ambush and Intel Sweep.

Intel Sweep is a pretty obvious one, just fly around grab a couple objectives and game is over. Precision Strike is nice with Dodanna and Luke, slow crawl it until you can use the squadron ability, again no reason to blow up anything, just land a few hits and get the objective points in round 5 and 6. Finally Fleet Ambush. Puts the Star Destroyer in the middle of the map, which opens up the flank right away. It takes a lot of movement away from the Vic.

I have been struggling between Rebels or Empire and right now I am only leaning towards Empire because the guy I play with the most is leaning towards the Rebels. I think people under estimate the TIEs when paired with Howlrunner. 4 blues and 1 reroll...can't beat that.

I won a local event with Vic2, Dominator, Tarkin, Wulfy and 4 TIEs. I was thinking tarkin and wulfy are overkill so I will take H9 lasers instead. I am glad to see your list had that set up.

Good write up. Have you played rebels at all? I have been dabbling in them due to a lot of local complaining imperials are OP (fun fact, they are :D )

Congrats! I posted in your thread with some advice. I haven't played rebels, but I helped my play group come up with a pretty nasty list that I posted earlier in the thread that consists of 3 CR-90's. At 180 the Neb-B isn't worth it, though thankfully with Wave 1 cards it's fine. Rebel fighters become very very scary for the Imperial player at 300. It makes it to where you can't spam Dominator on every shot.

at 300pts, I am finding the boys over toys rule strong. Less upgrades more ships/squadrons. When you only have one ship you get much more out of its upgrades and titles. I almost wonder if people will be under cost by a lot of points to just make a super 1 ship build. I can not remember off hand if their is a limit to the number of points you can be under by.

Side note, I know the Asgard gents live stream WM/H games, any chance you guys will be live streaming Armada games. I have been discussing it with some friends up here in CT.

Yeah, at 300 you REALLY need fighter support for Imperials. I'll have to talk to Will about streaming, it's certainly a possibility since he really likes the game.

At 180pts you can't bring enough Squadrons in order to have them make it through even basic attrition (of both time on target and actual numbers) in order for them to be impactful in the majority of cases.

Yup. Take enough ties to kill the XWings and you're golden. At 300 squadrons are much more potent.
