Batman V Superman trailer discussion

Oh even though it's only nominally a superhero show. Gotham is great. In fact I like it best because it's not about Batman. I like batman, but the idea of a cop show set in his world is quite different and the characters and actors in the show are great.

It's a little heavy handed from time to time with the 'You get who this is right??' but the 2nd season seems to have done away with that a great deal.

Plus the Penguin is just amazing. Best version of him in any show/movie I've seen.

So far there has been no second season. They've gone on break a lot with that show. It concerns me. I hope it isn't cancelled.

I liked Gotham until Daredevil beat the pants off it.

They're so different that I don't see why one would make you think less of another.

It's not just daredevil though arrow and flash are much better than Gotham as well, hell shields second season has made up for the very rocky first season it's come into its own.

The detectives are strong enough to make the show worth watching but they loose out to constant unnecessary scenes with Bruce Wayne he's in it way too much and drags the show down, they are also burning through the bad guys far too fast and by the second season only the die hard batman fans will get the references.

It started strong but since the mid season break it's gone down in quality very quickly.

That I agree with. There's far too much Bruce in the show. I don't mind the kid or the story arc, but I was hoping for a cop show that was based in Gotham, not a 5 season Batman origin story.

Gotham is just a very, very different shows than the "superhero" shows. The origins of some of the Bat villians is pretty fun.

But then you get appearances by the flying graysons which are utterly irrelevant for the next 25-30 years until *spoilers* they die and batman recruits robin.

It's a prequel series. There is giong to be tons of stuff like that.

Sadly they don't know how to space out the cameos. If there even will be a second season, practically every character but The Joker will already have been on the show.

Yeah I said similar earlier it's too many references too early, it would of worked well with penguin and catwoman being the focus for first season.

but The Joker will already have been on the show.

He was. That redhead kid who took the red hood, that's the early incarnation of the Joker, at least in some cases it is.

The Red Hood is so old that they reconned him and the Joker a couple times at least.

I think there are a few options. I think Jerome (the kid who killed his circus mom) is the one they are touting as the Joker, but he could be a red herring (the old man, with the very Joker-esque suit, had another kid with him).

I do hope the next incarnation of the Red Hood is in next season. It sounds like they may be making Hush a bit of a bigger part next season.

How DC is doing their shows allows this fun little side project, and allows it to be it's own thing.

(the old man, with the very Joker-esque suit, had another kid with him).

The problem is that the Joker has been retconned so many times it's hard to keep track and who knows what version of him they'll use.

Although to be honest I hope they never put the joker in, or Batman, because I think the show has enough going for it, that they need Batman at all. Gotham is an interesting town and nearly a character in it's own right. There's soooo much they could do and never touch on any real Batman stuff.

Although once again the bad guy has stolen some of the thunder. Robin Taylor just about steals the show as Penguin/Cobblepot. He's done for that character what Ledger did for the Joker.

But I also really think that Gordon and Bullock are both great characters.

Anyone see the images of the Suicide Squad cast?

Just that awful joker image yeesh that's not a joker I wanna see.

I think having a lot of Joker red herrings is kind of fun.

And that was a lot of reactions to Heath Ledger's Joker. The actor is of high enough quailty to at least entertain the possibility of it being a great performance.
