I think Kyle and Jan were the ones who actually stole the plans but I could be wrong.

I seem to recall reading that there are, like, 6 contradictory stories about how the original plans were stolen. It's one of the most confusing parts of the old EU.

My favorite part: No Jedi. Thank goodness, we could use a movie or two dealing with characters that don't have the luxury of super powers and magic swords.

This is probably the best part IMO, I'm veeeeeery weary of Jedi.

The Rebellion side of Star Wars has always been so much more intriguing to me than the Jedi or anything else, so a movie that seems to focus entirely on that super intrigues me. As a side note, I want a new Rogue Squadron game.

If you read the book based on dark forces (the fps) It's stated in there that the plans stolen in the first mission were at least Part of the death star.. however at the time it was stated whole.

I gotta admit I'm disappointed that its not about Rogue Squadron but the premise seems interesting nonetheless. Definitely excited to see the first Star Wars military action film.

Didn't the character you played in the PC X-Wing game also have something to do with the plans? I forget...

Based on the name alone, I assumed it would be about X-Wing fighters and had already begun to get excited for a live action X-Wing game inspired movie.

Still, lack of Jedi, desperate soldiers, lots of blowy up .. could be promising.
