How similar to Warhammer Online?

By heptat, in Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game

For those of you that have this or played it, how similar is Warhammer Invasion (in terms of anything you care to mention - canon, style, aesthetics, races and characters) to the Warhammer Online version of Warhammer? Cheers.

They are the same in that they both take place in the Warhammer world. So yes the general art style, canon and all that is the same. What they differ in is that in Invasion you are representing the entire army you are playing as. So while Warhammer Online is about being one person in a huge war, Invasion is controlling all the people in that war.

In WAR you can't do dwarf vs. dwarf, but in WAR:IN you can...? Orcs and Humans never ally in War:IN like they can't in WAR MMO...

In the LCG you're playing units (consists of one dude or many dudes) to zones, and each zone provides you with stuff depending on who is there... Quest you get cards, battlefeild you can attack, kingdom you get moneys to play cards with the moneys... Guys in battlefeild you attack opponent's other zones, do damage if they don't defend, once 8 points of damage has hit a zone it burns, and then do that one more time to another zone and you win the game (or that person is eliminated rather).

Combat, attackers allocate where there damage goes, and defenders do the same (simultaneous smack-age)... some keywords and other such effects in the game (corruption = don't use that guy for a while kinda thing... scout = random card discard if not dealt with).

IDK. I play (well played... in a bit of a pause from it right now) the MMO. Like the MMO (quite a bit actually) and like this LCG.

DO IT! NOW! :) (well in october... i guess...)

Thanks for the replies...yeah, will have to get it, but the wait will be until more like November...things take a while to get to Australia unfortunately.
