With all the King/Nina support that discards momentum, how vulnerable is it at the moment?
How Vulnerable is Momentum?
I think the better question is how precious is momentum? The answer, of course, being imperative.
Are you asking how much momentum discard there is? Iuno, Calming the Mind invalidates Mishima Zaibatsu Leader I believe completely, and slows down Maniacal Laughter and Treacherous Offspring. King's support is awful, but it CAN discard momentum. I vaguely remember War Between Sisters having some thing to do with momentum. Her Own Agenda is E Commit -1 momentum I believe.
So, not much momentum discard in the block, but it's extremely important. Momentum is so rare in this game, thus making momentum costs THAT much more important, and makng cards like Ascending Zephyr and Wonderworld Comics look almost broke by comparison.

If you ask me, w/o response negation... You had better be gaining momentum during your attack if you expect to use it after you play the attack. That or you had better have a way to protect against throws (i.e. run damage reduction), or deal in many attacks - draw a lot of cards.
Momentum is difficult in block 4. This is why Fury of the Ancients is such an ANGRY card.

Grandmook and I had a brief discussion about this. Basically, as anyone who's been playing this game from the beginning knows, the current game is very much like the game was in it's infancy. That being so, other than difficulty, there's no reason to not pack plenty of throws. They're almost guaranteed momentum and of course, they push damage through.
I couldn't disagree more with the notion that King's support is awful. Outside of Astaroth and Rashotep, there's not much to prevent you from being hit by throws. By the way, The Man Behind the Mask in desperation is crazy good, especially if you were fortunate enough to draw into multiple of them quickly. You could literally spam out all four, going first, without the risk of failing. The Entertainer is solid and reversal decks love Enemies now Friends.
Back to the topic...the supply/demand for momentum is what will pull the game in the direction that it currently is going. Unless something changes, throws will be a predictable, if not effective means of generating precious momentum.
What about cards such as, striking thunder, or that other attack that gets added for Stun:1. Do you think it will be hard to keep those in your momentum?
Yi Shan's Tiger Claw
Against a well-constructed King deck it's nearly impossible to hold onto momentum. There's not really a "Duty Calls" legal now, so face-up momentum doesn't have anything in particular to be afraid of that doesn't apple to any momentum.
It really depends on the deck you're playing, to both questions. How difficult is it to get momentum? Depends on how well your opponent blocks. Wonderworld Comics loses a lot of its value if your opponent doesn't start out playing a great many blocks -- woohoo, I can change the zone so you will continue to not-block, or I can gain even more momentum, or I can tap a foundation to draw a single card. Exciting?
How vulnerable is momentum? Again, depends. Basically, it depends on how much of your opponent's name is King, and how many copies of things like Mishima Zaibatsu there are floating around.
Well, In the new block I haven't really made anything other than Zi Mei. As far as she goes, momentum gen wasn't that bad due to Solitary Assasain and Ascending Zephyr. I've gone against a King, but I don't think he was really trying to focus on getting rid of the momentum too much as he only got rid of one per turn. I do really miss my Natural Leaders though.. D: Angry Fei Long deck was fun..
Oh, there is one big thing that makes (IMO) any momentum strategy inherently risky.
War Between Sisters.
It's a very strong card simply for the Charisma effect, and would see play solely for that... but it's also a massive piece of momentum hate. Want to play 3rd Rite? You better get 4 momentum before the Enhance step...
