The K-Wing was never a Rebel fighter and wasn't even built until after the establishment of the New Republic, so shouldn't the markings on the fighter and cards that come in the expansion have the New Republic symbol? After all, it wasn't even dreamed up as a concept during the Rebellion era.
We now have a fourth faction - the New Republic!
Kath Scarlet was never an imperial character... i dont think FFG worry too much about tiny details like that.
They needed a new rebel ship for a bomber 'fix' orientated wave so it is probably (like the e wing) ok to bend timelines a bit.
Theoretically there is loads of 'clone wars' era stuff like nimbus fighters/v wings that are still in service *very* late in the comics but putting them into the game wouldnt really damage the feel of the game but i think they are not in because they dont fulfil a role *and* are not iconic.
While the K wing is far from iconic, its clearly there to balance out the punisher, and i'd imagine will find its niche in epic games with raiders and corvettes for both sides to 'bomb'

Same thing for the E-Wing actually...

So's the E-wing. Old news.
At least by the old canon. The new canon doesn't contain either yet.
The new Canon as A and B wings beforeYavin. Just sayin'
How many years before the Battle of Yavin is Rebels set in?
Not sure how that's relevant to E-wings and K-wings, unless your point is if two ships can shift surely four can.
How many years before the Battle of Yavin is Rebels set in?
Four. The B-wing looks new, the A-wing a rebel group has so it seems to be a fairly easily acquired fighter. That or that rebel group invented it.
Edited by TIE Pilotthe A-wing we can chalk to being an early use R-22 spearhead, basically prototype A-wing. Matches X-wing lore.
B-wing is harder to work with.

No we don't.

If you've ever had Lando on the same table as Biggs, you've already broken continuity.
Lore and strict adherence to the timeline has never been a concern in this game.the A-wing we can chalk to being an early use R-22 spearhead, basically prototype A-wing. Matches X-wing lore.

He's talking about the appearance of the R-22 and the B-wing in the Rebels Season 2 trailer.

OP by your logic the United States of America did not fight a War of Independence against England. A rabble mob which in turn formed a Confederacy did. Yet the USA considers those rebels and early confederates that form the Republic it is today American Citizens. Heck they all used the same National Symbols for the most part.
Don't get hung up on names till we see the whole explanation either.
I think each ship will stay with their respective sides and no new faction will be added.
True that after the Battle of Endor the Galactic Empire lost control of Courescant and the Alliance took over forming into the New Republic, but it was still the same people with the same equipment. When the Continental army received Cornwallis's surrender they still were the same people in Continental army only to have their name changed to the United States Army.
Also it takes a while for a weapon system to be integrated from prototype to deployment. Who says that E-wing and K-wing prototypes were not already built during the Battle of Endor?

Who said the Rebels flew it when it was brand new? Not like they had all the money for brand new gear. K-Wing might have been old by the time they fielded it.
No, I didn't look this up in a canon source that no longer is canon.... er.... never mind.

Thats how we see it in the UK
The revolutionary war was one group of english people fighting another group of english people
Once one group had one then you could legally and internationally be Americans so....
its more like a civil war really ![]()
(only joking before someone gets really defensive, the reality is that nobody in the UK really cares, most people have no idea it even happened
)

As an American, I am very offended that you would say such a thing! Oh wait, never mind, I don't care at all. And most of my fellow Americans are morons and probably don't even know who we declared our independence from anyway.

It was the French, right? That's why the X,Y,Z affair was such a big deal?

Exactly. And then George Washington fought alongside Napoleon in the Vietnam conflict.

Sorry bud.....but the EU is dead. It is basically a dream that us fanboys had. According to the EU A-Wings and B-Wing were first used at the "Battle of Endor" and then were put into permanent service because of thier performance in that battle. Well the new "Rebels" trailer show them being used at least 4 years before "A New Hope". So the K-Wing if only mentioned in a new novel, comic, TV Show, or any other media to have been used by the Rebels then there we go.
I really wish people would stop trying to use EU almost as gospel....because it is not part of canon anymore. It hurts me to say that, but dear lord move along people....move along.

I think we all can agree that the timeline doesn't really matter unless you are playing a scenario based off the movies. After all you do have Biggs covering an E-wing while facing off with a Tie Defender.
