Miniatures/Table-top gaming

By Trothael, in Odds & Ends

Just wondering if anybody else plays any model/miniature based table-top games here. Or if there are any model collectors.

I for one am a Citadel and Privateer Press gamer, and I'm a painter to some degree. I want to post pictures of my latest piece of work here, hence this thread.

If anybody else plays any table-top games, do say :D

i have played this and that but never a minature game

I've played this, that and everything. I used to work at a gaming club up until the end of June when it shut down >: I've been attending my local GW and various other gaming clubs for the past 6 years as well

From those places I've gotten into a huge variety of miniatures games, card games, video games, mental games etc etc until I hit 'the game' and then we all go ¬_¬-face.

I've got several tournament 40k armies, and I'm working on a centerpiece model at the moment. Once it's finished I will be posting it here.

cool look forward to seeing it

I played Mage Knight back in the day...man I miss it actually...

I have a bunch of the new Anima Miniatures and it's an awesome game, I just don't have the time to paint and put the darn little things together. T_T

I swear that the Privateer Press designers had a hand in the Anima miniatures...

I really want some of the Anima minis as well >.< Reeeeeaaaaaaaaaally badly. But my next order of Vallejo inks comes first...(Stupid Citadel replacing their inks with washes...)

ive been looking into the anima brand and so far i like what i see

I play a teensy little bit of Warhammer 40k. Bought Assault on Black Reach, but my local GW ran out on me. I want snipers, and I can't get them. I play Space Marine, but that's because Orks are a pain to paint, and don't have snipers. Might pick up some Eldar one day.

I'd definitely reccomend it sir....the RPG, Card Game, and Minis are all great, and the artwork is just stunning all around. ^_^

I'm slowly becoming a privateer press ***** ever since I started playing Monsterpocalypse.

The game is soooo fun, and the miniatures are brilliant.

Privateer Press are sooooooooooooooooooooooooo good for a company that almost exclusively works with white metal (Though the plastic Menoth unit they released a couple of months ago made me cry tears of sheer joy), and their prices are actually reasonable IMO.

I've never played Monsterocalypse though D: I'm only familiar with Hordes and Warmachine.

I highly suggest it...it puts all the fun of destroying a city on your table.

I've looked into it, but my problem is I'd be the only person in my area playing it -_- I need a new FLGS...

While I enjoy a good game of MonPoc, a couple problems I have is almost the same as Truffles: I'm one of the few that actually plays it around here, 'n playin against the same themed faction is rather dull sometimes.

That, 'n the game is kinda expensive to me. While I understand that minatures are goin to be expensive ('n who am I to judge?), I sometimes wish the prices of the minatures would go down a bit.

Wishful thinkin, I know, but with the way my current job is 'n everythin that's goin on, money is tighter than ever.

But I'll agree: MonPoc is a great game 'n a lot of fun playin. Just need about 3 hours 'n the factions 'n buildins already ready. Otherwise, it takes a long time (or at least around here it does.. no more TVs bein on!).

Edit: Also note, I've been makin the joke, but who knows if it's possible yet: I wonder if Privateer Press will ever decide to make a MonPoc video game. Highly, highly, highly doubtful, but if they do, then I can bet it'll be one amazin game! Certainly would be a great tutorial to play around with, no less. 'N then there's the idea of multiplayer, 'n playin against people via internetz.. I can dream, 'n I dream big.

PP have released licenses to make 2 Warmachine/Iron Kingdoms video games thusfar (One already released, another one on the way), and if they choose to expand into that market then anything is possible.

Thought I'd mention my latest-latest project.

I'm taking a break from my stupid-amount-of-models-still-to-paint-in-the-same-colour-scheme army, and start a side-project. I'm taking apart and rebuilding a lot of a friend's old models, cleaning them of flash and clippings and then re-assembling them so that they resemble the glory they should once have looked like. And then I'm re-painting this small-ish force to showcase standards. It's been 5 days and I've rebuilt several models, painted two and am in the middle of painting a figurehead model for the army at showcase standard.
