If b-wings were around why we're none at yavin? Rebels threw every fighter they had at the deathstar and they'd of performed better than y-wings.
Every fighter they had at the Yavin base.

1) I'd love to know where you live that cops would shoot you for littering.
2) It's a badass scene, and you're implying that it's garbage.

You do realize that the Rebellion was never, in either Legends or Canon, a coherent whole at any point in the story? They kept it chopped up into cells to prevent the Empire from destroying them in one fell swoop. So it follows that the cell at Yavin had no B-wings available to them because that cell either never had reason to have any or the fighters weren't widespread. Perhaps in another part of the galaxy someone was testing a B-wing prototype, or even had a few built, but couldn't send them to other cells because they had no idea there were any or just didn't have the numbers to send them to other cells. A small planetary cell would have some resources, but getting the parts to build whole starfighters is a massive undertaking in a galaxy where most of the major manufacturers are nationalized. So it stands to reason that it took a long time for the B-wing to be anything considered ubiquitous. Only the Y-wing and Z-95 Headhunter were anything approaching commonplace, and even the X-wing was relatively uncommon since the Incom corporation defectors only made off with a few prototypes and the fighter itself was difficult to manufacture.
Asking a question like that is like asking, "If Z-95 Headhunters and R-41 Starchasers were around, why were none at Yavin?" It doesn't take much thought to come up with a logical reason why. Seriously, I came up with the above in five minutes.

And honestly it doesn't matter what the answer is. Rebels is in fact LFL approved canon , what someone's opinion on the matter is doesn't change anything.
If Rebels shows B-Wings before Yavan then there were B-Wings before Yavin, period.
Edit: I mean a huge chunk of the EU is nothing more than fan's trying to explain why something happened, or why someone had this or that tech.
It's all about coming up with an in universe reason to explain why George did something a given way.

There were different cells of rebels all over, the largest and best supplies were he Alderaan group, where the X-wings and Y-wings came from. The other fighters became more numerous in the alliance as more groups came out of hiding and they all merged into the massive fleet near Sullest.
The rebels also used other fighters like the R-41 Starchaser and T-wing but either sold them off or stopped purchasing them when better ships came along. In the beginning the rebels used whatever they could cobble together. If they could have gotten a hold of TIEs with hyperdrives they would have used them for the hit and run tactics they employed.
The Death Star novel from a few years ago told of a failed attack by rebels using an old Trade Federation battle ship full of 500 x-wings. They didn't know the DS was as big as it was, and they found out too late about the super laser as it vaporized the battleship. None of those x-wings had hyperdrives at the time so they were all hunted down by the DS TIEs. An interesting early battle that left the rebels scrambling for ships. Might have been why they had to use so many Y-wings at Yavin, their main force was wiped out. A-wings must have also been a cheap alternative until x-wing production could crank out enough.
Oh the battleship was the Fortressa. Don't want to forget that.
To me this stuff is worse than Binks. Kids program trying to be adult and just to top it off it is classed as canon.
The animations do look great on the spaceships... I just can't get past the dialogue between animated characters.
So you didn't watch Clone Wars either, I presume?
Which means you missed out on Cad Bane.
Which means you missed out on the best Star Wars character, Legends included, since Han Solo.
Cad is good, but Hondo is way better.

"Death Star" by Michael Reaves & Steve Perry
Edited by SFC SnuffyMy biggest issue with the trailer is that Vader's voice is awful. Now, I understand that they probably couldn't get James Earl Jones (is he still alive?), but c'mon! I've heard a ton of people that can do better imitations than that. Otherwise, I'm slightly peeved that they're using the trope that because someone is old - merely physically aged, in the case of the clones - that means they lose all of their discipline and become some bumbling Sanford & Sons-like scrounger. Rex was a hardass, with a good head on his shoulders. Now he drives an AT-TE that looks like it's been rejected by Jawas?
In the interest of full disclosure, I haven't watched any of Rebels (no cable), but I've watched all of the Clone Wars series through the end of Season Five and loved it.

His voice does sound weird, but that actually is James Earl Jones.

It's James Earl Jones doing it.
As for the clones, they've gone through accelerated aging, a ten year childhood of brutal military training, three and a half years of constant war, having the docility chip that's been in your brain your whole life physically cut out of you and then had everyone you ever knew turn on you as a traitor. Can't blame them for being a little nuts.
As for the AT-TE, they live in it. A tank's not exactly comfortable, hence the home touches.
Edited by Blue FiveAye, it's James Earl Jones. Keep in mind he's 84 now, the OT was a third of a century ago: your voice tends to change as you age.
Lol, maybe in the new EU the commandos rapid aging was reversed or something or gregor is a special case.... I still wish they would bring in Kal skirata, or even sergeant Vau, from the commandos series books, Even though they would need to make some changes obviously. And then have him hunt Ko sai, or whatever the kaminoians name is. Fish bait needs to be brought to justice.
In Legends she hangs herself. In New Canon I'm not even sure she exists.

Unless you could bait them into all banding together into one massive force and throwing their every resource against a target they're so desperate to destroy that they'll risk everything attacking it.
An incomplete moon sized planet destroying battlestation might do the trick.
can someone explain all the cad bane fandom? whats going on?
like really, better than han solo and darth vader? what is this guy???

He's a kinda boring, cliched duros bounty hunter from the clone wars that they insisted on playing WAAAY over the top melodramatic so a bunch of people have glommed onto him as a total badass, the same way the did boba fett and darth maul.

It's all about coming up with an in universe reason to explain why George did something a given way.
^ So much this!
Z-95s or R-41s were not in Yavin because no-one at Lucasfilm had created those fighters by 1977. Sorry, but it is that simple.
There were no A-wings or B-wings either for the same reason. And most likely, there were no TIE Interceptors or Lambdas in the Death Star for the same very reason.
The merchandise documentation (role play game by West End Games, toys, miniatures and models, vehicle cross-section books, etc) just made up in-universe reasons. But they were never canon. Lucas said many times that the only true canon sources were the movies themselves, the novelizations and the audiodramas, and all of them are just minor variations of the theatrical final movie scripts.
But that is also why we cannot see any battledroid or clone wars era fighter, ship or droid around either in the 3 original movies either. Not even R2-D2 make use of its canon leg rockets. Or ObiWan remembers anything at all of C3PO or R2D2 if we keep pulling from this string. Why R2D2 doesn't tell C3PO that he was made by Luke's father? Why doesn't Chewie tell Han that the Force is real, as he fought himself along a Jedi Master in Kashyyk in the clone wars. When Obi Wan is telling Luke in episode IV that his apprentice Vader killed Annakin, why doesn't R2D2 actually say "No, you liar! Annakin WAS your apprentice, he killed Luke's mother in front of our ship, and you killed him afterwards!"
Why? Because nothing of that had actually happened back then. And then Lucas made it happen out of thin air.
I know it sounds lame and lazy, but it's the truest explanation. Lucas and his creative team made up the whole story as they were shooting the movies.
One of the big lies from Lucas is that he had a grand scheme in his head the whole time for the whole series. He has said that countless times, and countless times he has lied. Recently he admitted, in a letter to the scriptwriters of Lost, that he just made up the story for the original movies and the prequels as he was shooting them. This makes sense, because if you read the original scripts for episodes IV to VI, you'll see that the story told there barely resembles the final movies that we got.
Only through a lot of pain, his creative team forced him to accept some non-canon material as canon for the prequels. For example, the name of the capitol planet Coruscant, that he accepted to make canon in Episode I, but childishly having the last word by bending its pronunciation to /Korussan/, that makes no sense.
Lucas isn't Tolkien. He was never interested on creating a coherent world that was actually lived-in. He just wanted to tell some stories on a setting that just looked lived-in.
It was his creative team, the people around him, who kept on trying to give some continuity and coherence to all of this, and ultimately, who kept the fans' attention with the EU during the dry years between Episode VI and the Special Editions.
You know why the prequels are so bad? Because by the time Lucas got to make them, he was already fabulously rich and all-mighty in Lucasfilm. Noone could tell him "Don't do this, it's bad. Do that instead, it's better". He only listened to his own advice. And that is what we got. And that is what we would have got also for the original trilogy had Lucas been totally free to do his will back then.

Edited by ForgottenloreDo we have any idea what kind of ship it is that crashes into vader in that teaser? I've been thinking that if that b-wing from the trailer was an early prototype and was destroyed in this episode, it might take them quite a few years to rebuild it and get it into mass production, this explaining the lack of b-wings pre-endor.

This is why Zathras can never have anything nice. Zathras have sad life....probably have sad death....but at least there is symmetry.
I need this manuever in the game somehow.
It'd be a K turn with a followup reverse boost. /half dial speed reverse move the following turn. Doable, special modification allowing turning off the flight stabilizers.
