I feel I need to point out that both Simon Pegg and David Tennant were in TCW, with Simon Pegg playing Dengar (and David Tennant playing a lightsabre building teacher bot).
Rebels Season 2 Trailer
Commander Data and some other Trek stars showed in the clone wars as well
Brent Spiner only worked in Rebels as the exiled governor I believe.
That trailer looks awesome! Also its kind of sad, but I am looking forward to Rebels Season 2 so much more than Episode 7.
Me too. I will get excited about Episode 7 in Nov.
Some notes that are less spoilerific for those want to know more without ruining the 1 st episode.
The premiere is a one-hour event titled “The Siege Of Lothal”. For those of you who are getting Lothal cabin-fever, I can say that (without giving anything away) the episode ends on a note that suggests we won’t be seeing the planet for a while after this.
The episode is one of the darkest stories that has been told so far.
Guest stars galore – Billy Dee Williams, Phil LaMarr, and James Earl Jones return as Lando Calrissian, Bail Organa, and Darth Vader respectively, while Sam Witwer makes his debut on the show as Emperor Palpatine.
Kanan is ambivalent on if he wants to assist the organized group of Rebel Cells or if he wants to pursue his own missions with the Ghost crew. Hera, conversely, is firmly in favor Rebel Cells due to their rescue at the end of “Fire Across The Galaxy”. This is apparently an internal conflict that carries through for the season.
Ezra begins to establish himself more as a leader for the team, as opposed to a follower.
Ahsoka Tano is important to the story, but she is not thrust into the role of being the main character. The focus of the narrative is still on the crew of the Ghost.
A group of pilots called Phoenix Squadron (which flies B-wings and A-wings, among other ships) is introduced as a Rebel Cell. A character named Commander Sato leads these soldiers.
Darth Vader is very prominent in this episode, but the ending suggests that he will not be the primary threat that the Rebel Cells will have to deal with this season. He is much more threatening to the Ghost crew than Wilhuff Tarkin was – and by a significant margin. All of (or almost all of) the clips involving Darth Vader that were shown in the Season 2 Trailer are from this episode. In fact, most of the trailer features content from “The Siege Of Lothal”.
“The Siege Of Lothal” will air in the Summer, while the show itself will resume in the Autumn. No official dates were mentioned.
Season 2 will be 22 episodes long (“The Seige Of Lothal” will count as two episodes, based on how “Spark Of Rebellion” was counted as two episodes in Season 1). The information about when the show will go back on the air personally leads me to believe that Rebels will not have any extensive hiatuses once it starts back up again (in order to coincide with the release of The Force Awakens).

Thank the maker!
Dr. Kynes auf Dune: Bless the Maker and his water, bless the coming and going of him, may his passing cleanse the world!
But, what about the skeletons of Luke's foster parents, face down in the sand?
Considering that almost immediately after we are treated to a cantina full of funny aliens, it's still not very serious or grim.
Wait, what? Luke is still pretty down when they get to the Tatooine franchise of Cheers, plus, two of those "funny aliens" try to beat the smeg out of him, at which time his decidedly unfunny master (as opposed to the hilarious Sir Alec from Kind Hearts and Coronets ) whips out his Light Persuader and discourages their attentions with extreme prejudice. Don't forget also that this is where we meet Han, who tells Greedo in a distinct, non-verbal way that he is not interested in the alien's unwholesome sexual advances.
I mean, come on.

This seems like a stretch, since he's still a kid. Plus, he still has that weird goat face (unless they fixed that).
I wonder if they'll use this arc to have Vader kill Ahsoka, not only establishing him firmly as someone with whom you don't mess around, but also the question of her whereabouts during eps 4-6. (those likely being, "she spent them as an ash pile')

Well to be fair Greedo did shoot at Han first... /trollgasm
The full synopsis from Episode 1 of Season 2 is now in the link.
Dave Filoni did say before the end of TCW series that echo wasn't dead... but they never got to explore that story arc. Gregor, not likely, but possible. Cody? almost impossible. Orders AT-TE Shoot at Jedi and gets Captain promotion? Your going to have a hard time explaining why the Empire is worth abandoning to that guy.Ooooh, Season 2 is going to rock the house. Ahsoka? Hondo? Rex? Vader? Holy crap! My inner geek just squealed with joy! My three favorite characters from TCW are back!
Edit: on a second viewing, when you see Rex and the two other clones, the one one Rex's left is Commander Wolfe. My guess as to the other one? I have 3....Cody, Echo or Gregor the Commando.
Rex's age also is saddening, that means by ROTJ, they all would be dead or close to death...
Dave Filoni did reveal the name of the third clone at SWC. Turns out that it's Gregor and he hasn't aged very well. They showed a clip of them "fishing" from the AT-PT using Zeb as bait. Gregor, in a word, is a crazy old coot.

Lol, maybe in the new EU the commandos rapid aging was reversed or something or gregor is a special case.... I still wish they would bring in Kal skirata, or even sergeant Vau, from the commandos series books, Even though they would need to make some changes obviously. And then have him hunt Ko sai, or whatever the kaminoians name is. Fish bait needs to be brought to justice.
Pretty sure the rapid aging was in no way reversed at all.
Pretty sure the rapid aging was in no way reversed at all.
Wouldn't they need to at least slow it down to allow the clones to be used in warfare for a number of years? Of course, Palpatine probably didn't care whether his puppets died, since he could always brew up more, but still...?
Wouldn't they need to at least slow it down to allow the clones to be used in warfare for a number of years?
That assumes that such a thing is even possible. It also assumes that even if it were possible, if it was feasible. If 8 out 10 clones die due to the process is it worth doing? Also even with order 66 implanted in them, they were still part of the Republic Army and may not be seen as being trustworthy in the Empire.
So if it isn't an A-wing would that make it an R22 Spearhead? Or just a "prototype A-wing"
So if it isn't an A-wing would that make it an R22 Spearhead? Or just a "prototype A-wing"
R-22 can explain the A-Wings but not the B-Wings. It's possible these were already under development at this time but that doesn't fit with what we've previously been told about Dodonna thinking new fighters were needed. Of course, if we're talking the new canon, then we don't actually know when either fighter was introduced or in fact who developed them.
So, I guess it's either they were very early test versions, they were similar fighters (like the R-22), or it's a retcon. Probably a retcon!
If b-wings were around why we're none at yavin? Rebels threw every fighter they had at the deathstar and they'd of performed better than y-wings.

RETCON!!!
The possible excuses I can think of:
1. They weren't shown on screen but were in the battle (similar to the two R-22 Starchasers/A-Wings from that one cut-away of the temple on Yavin having been said to be in the battle in some sources)
2. They had very few B-Wings and they were all outside of the range needed to return for the battle.
3. The B-Wings were not operational, still very much prototypes at the time, perhaps being reengineered for a new version.
4. RETCON!!!
Yeah the prequel trilogy had retcons look how that turned out.
Yeah the prequel trilogy had retcons look how that turned out.
It's going to happen.
The moment they said all the old EU was no longer canon, it should have been pretty much expected that retcons will happen.
Currently, though, it wouldn't quite be a retcon. No canon sources I'm aware of say that A-Wings and B-Wings were developed after Yavin. Those statements were from old EU sources which no longer matter for that argument.
Oh i'm so sorry i didn't realise i wasn't allowed to make up my own mind about what is and isn't good, because i like starwars must i like every single product? i mean i always thought the xmas special was naff but from what your saying i have to like it right? All while playing starfighter with little plastic toys, and racking up thousands of posts about those little plastic toys, which is serious business , right?Ill just continue to dismiss it as the silly kids cartoon it is.
Old gods forbid that people be allowed to have their own personal tastes and be individuals.
Oh and everyone who's got more than 1k posts apparently critias here thinks were are sad lifeless losers so how about we all meet up at my place i'll go out now and get some cool aid.
Grow the hell up, i don't like rebels so what? i also don't like the made for TV ewok movies or the ewok cartoon, lots and lots of things involving starwars are outright crap it's up to the individual to pick what they do and don't like not you.
This is a forum everyones allowed to express their view, everyones allowed to either agree or disagree with said view you don't like it then don't log in and read it, it's not your place to try and belittle anyone for spending their free time how ever they like.
Dang right. This is the internet, Hobo is perfectly reasonable to expect to be able to come to an article clearly created to talk about how much someone enjoyed something and leave a steaming turd. But how dare you read his steaming turd and respond to him that you disagree with his viewpoint on things. I mean, this is the internet, not a place where *YOU* can have an opinion.
I mean gosh, come on people.
I'd stop or the cops will shoot you for littering.
