Rebels Season 2 Trailer

By Keoki, in X-Wing

It has only been 15-16 years since the end of the Clone Wars.

Yeah. Comradebot made that point. Clones age faster. Rex looks old as dogsh*t, and fittingly so.

This pretty much proves that the clones continue to age faster than normal even after they leave kamino, but that was never the impression I got from the movies. I always assumed that the clone masters were artificially aging them to low to mid twenties and then they would be aging normally. Evidently not though.

I know star wars into supposed to be all dark and stuff but I wanna see Vader end Rex and ahsoka

I have to say, I had a hard time getting into Rebels. The first three episodes didn't really grab me much, but I like the looks of the trailer. I've never seen the Clone Wars either though, so I only know about Captain Rex and Ashoka from my brother. I'm thinking of binge-watching the Clone Wars once this semester is over, as I kind of like the prequel era, and this new not-quite-GCW era.

interesting!

I also thought it was a bit slow to begin with, but it does pick up. The season finale was very good and this trailer makes the second season look fantastic.

As for clone wars, it was fairly hit or miss. Some of the stories were amazingly good, but there were also jar jar episodes that were nigh unwatchable.

About where in the season does it start to pick up? I kind of stopped around episode three (including the pilot). Part of that was just being busy, but part of it was that I wasn't super excited to keep going.

It's difficult to say, tastes vary and so far I have only seen the episodes once, but if I had to specify a particular point, I would say episode 7, empire day. For me that was when it first started to feel like they were a rebel cell and not just a group of comedic criminals slapstick-ing their way through sticking it to the man.

The earlier episodes still established some recurring elements and relationships though.

Yeah, Empire Day is pretty much where it picks up. Granted, the Lando episode breaks up the momentum a bit, but pretty much from Empire Day onward they are building to the finale. Which is awesome.

Thanks guys, I've got all the episodes on amazon, so I'll give it a look sometime when I'm not fruitlessly arguing with people on the internet.

As far as clone wars goes, if some parts seem confusing the show isn't exactly in chronological order and there is quite a few episodes you can completely skip. Generally if the episode has jar jar in it, padme, the word banking, or tiny kids then you can probably skip it lol.

Really? Padme is no good? That's disappointing.

I disagree with some of that. Some of the episodes with kids were pretty good (see another of my posts about Ahsoka telling a bunch of young teenagers they have to bunt and kill the adults), padme was good in a lot of episodes and some of the episodes that had jar jar as a supporting character I actually liked. I swear there is a point in one episode where the troopers send jar jar out to negotiate with the enemy expecting that he will cause a major distraction and accidentally destroy a couple tanks, just so they can get in position to ambush the enemy while he is doing so. Most of the jar jar stuff is as bad as you would expect though.

I think my biggest issue with clone wars is the exaggerated, real world accents they give to a lot of the aliens. The German mad scientist, the Scottish primitives, the Japanese enemy general.

Ill just continue to dismiss it as the silly kids cartoon it is.

All while playing starfighter with little plastic toys, and racking up thousands of posts about those little plastic toys, which is serious business , right?

Oh i'm so sorry i didn't realise i wasn't allowed to make up my own mind about what is and isn't good, because i like starwars must i like every single product? i mean i always thought the xmas special was naff but from what your saying i have to like it right?

Old gods forbid that people be allowed to have their own personal tastes and be individuals.

Oh and everyone who's got more than 1k posts apparently critias here thinks were are sad lifeless losers so how about we all meet up at my place i'll go out now and get some cool aid.

Grow the hell up, i don't like rebels so what? i also don't like the made for TV ewok movies or the ewok cartoon, lots and lots of things involving starwars are outright crap it's up to the individual to pick what they do and don't like not you.

This is a forum everyones allowed to express their view, everyones allowed to either agree or disagree with said view you don't like it then don't log in and read it, it's not your place to try and belittle anyone for spending their free time how ever they like.

Man, you're really touchy about this, aren't you? Take it easy, man.

You're allowed to call a popular show silly kids' stuff, but when someone points out we're all here -- yes, even me, all of us -- to talk about playing with toy starfighters, you sure get awful defense, don't you?

All I'm saying is all of this is silly kids' stuff to someone, buddy. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Dislike the show all you want to (they don't particularly need your ratings). But when you talk crap about it, don't be all shocked and flabbergasted when fans of the show get offended, and point out your hypocrisy.

But the Japanese / Alien General was voiced by George Takei!

Yes he was, which makes him a great connection between Star Wars and Star Trek when my family plays 6 degrees of separation, but it was still a cheesy, cliched Japanese villain accent.

Commander Data and some other Trek stars showed in the clone wars as well

Dude that role is NOTHING new for Takei, or are you unaware of his Command and Conquer role?

Spoilers, spoilers everywhere!

J/K I watched rebels with my son and it was actually not that bad. We are now in season 4 of clone wars and so far these are some of the only cartoons I can stand. Plus it's Star Wars!

I believe George Takei now has more Star Wars lines than Star Trek,

New Imperial Large Ship? Also, why not raider? FFG and Disney need to communicate more :(

Arquitens-class light cruisers are Clone Wars era ships. If you didn't see CW, all of the seasons are up on Netflix. There's also a Pelta-class frigate in there too.

The big thing I am loving is Vader has the proper looking Tie Advanced. Look at 0:55 on the trailer, its pretty obvious Vader's Tie has the iconic angled wings of the Tie Advanced. Whereas in season one that Tie prototype (that the inquisitor was flying) has the stubby curved wings. I'm definitely happy the art style changed or at least evolved :)

I'm late coming to the thread, but I just read through it all. First off, I'm excited as this looks awesome.

Next, I'm really surprised at the level of "Oh, no! The EU is utterly changed!" So...they showed one B-wing or B-wing prototype that might have one Mon Calamari. There is a whole race of these guys and there is one of them with one of their ships in Rebels. Aren't these guys all....individuals? Who's to say there isn't a Mon C. that is a Rebel sympathizer from the very beginning and tries to sway the rest of his race all the way until he's successful (right before ROTJ). I think people might just need to wait and see what happens before they decry that the entire EU is overturned.

I'm going to start watching Clone Wars with my son right after we finish watching Eureka. We have less than 5 episodes left. We will start watching it via the chronological order that was posted on starwars.com.

But, what about the skeletons of Luke's foster parents, face down in the sand?

Considering that almost immediately after we are treated to a cantina full of funny aliens, it's still not very serious or grim.
