Rebels Season 2 Trailer

By Keoki, in X-Wing

I like that they included the B-wing.

It illustrates that the EU is gone.

Long live the new canon.

I'll never pass up a chance to drink to the loss of the Vong.

Yeah, I lament a few things.

I have literally a wall of books that are paperweights now, but I've come full circle with the canon reset.

I wasn't keen at first, but now I like that everything will be streamlined.

I also like that there are no super-fans who know more than everyone else now. We're all on the same ground and I think a lot of folks will follow the new EU since they don't have daunting amounts of history to catch up on.

That's also quite nice. But, knowing that EU stuff will always be useful, since they can always pull from it.

I do like that they explicitly state they are getting away from lothal

Did you enjoy reading the books?

If so, then they were not paperweights

I like they are using the B-Wing because the Expanded Universe has never gave it too much love. We have never seen the real potential of the movements of that ship (the rotating body and cockpit). No videogame really shows this. So its going to be awesome to see it moving as it is suposed to move.

Yeah. It should also be noted that the B-Wing was... Curiously detailed in one of the website's videos. I lost the link a while back but it got attention and I wondered why.

Now I suppose we know.

Disney, saturate my adult life with more Star Wars badassery.

From the clip it's obvious Vader has an early release version of the Raider and has put the title card to good use.

Who is going to be the first to paint the orange B-Wing?

its not a b wing it's a H60 Tempest its got 2 cocpits heres the wookipedia link http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/H-60_Tempest_bomber

still its cool that the spearhead and tempest are staying canon

That one had folding wings... Pretty sure its an early B-Wing concept.

The A-Wing protos are a neat add in, of course since season 1 time has grown closer to Episode 4's start, so that's acceptable... But the B-wing is a bit of a stretch, However as mentioned above It's probably the prototype, of course that doesn't make much sense either, I thought the B-Wing wasn't designed until the Mon Cals got involved...

Also anyone get the feeling the finale is going to be a battle between Asoka, Rex, and Vader, with our new characters as well?

Why is there a b-wing before the Mon cals joined the rebellion, **** I hate how they are screwing around with stuff.

Just re watched it and the short guy showing off the b-wing is a mon cal. I'm pretty sure anyway.

I wonder if it could be Ackbar himself showing off what he helped create.

I doubt it. There isn't much to go on, but I get sort of an "absent-minded professor/tinkerer" vibe off that guy, not "future tactical genius and natural leader".

Could be totally off base though.

It's an elaborate ruse of Ackbars character!

Also anyone get the feeling the finale is going to be a battle between Asoka, Rex, and Vader, with our new characters as well?

I hope so. Ever since she was revealed during the S1 finale I've been wanting a Vader vs Ahsoka scene. Just something where there is some kind of resolution from her last TCW appearance.

Also, those big capital ships on the screengrabs look like the Venator class Star Destroyer's from the Clone Wars, could they be repurposed Rebel Capital ships?

1) Did I miss the date?

2) Assume Vader is referring to The Emperor as Master in that coversation. The Emperor didn't sound very scary at all.

3) Vader roflolstomping the Rebel fleet in his Advanced.

4) A-wing looks like it got bigger.

5) Really want Vader in S2 a lot.

And hey, if the B-Wing is as old as 5 BBY?

Cool. Minds were finally made up.

Technically *4* BBY - season 1 was 5 BBY, this is the story continuing on another year.

And it's pretty clear, even more than the A-Wing/R-22, this is an extremely early prototype. From how it appears (and how it's painted - like the USAF X-1), one would assume it's a one-off at this point.

I'm expecting that the fight where vader is forcing Ezra to decapitate himself (see what I did there) will be the season finale and that Ahsoka interrupts him before Ezra looses his head. They fight and either she tells the group to leave and they depart while she is still hopelessly fighting her former master, it she pulls a Ben kenobi so that they can escape.

I'm betting on the latter.

Or maybe during the fight he his feelings of training Ahsoka, resurrect briefly(As in he remembers when he was Anakin, and that brings up intense sadness/hate), ahsoka senses it and confronts him about it, and Vader ends up killing her after he offers her to join the dark side... a bit ominous but it would totally be Vader's style.

Ooooh, Season 2 is going to rock the house. Ahsoka? Hondo? Rex? Vader? Holy crap! My inner geek just squealed with joy! My three favorite characters from TCW are back!

Edit: on a second viewing, when you see Rex and the two other clones, the one one Rex's left is Commander Wolfe. My guess as to the other one? I have 3....Cody, Echo or Gregor the Commando.

Dave Filoni did say before the end of TCW series that echo wasn't dead... but they never got to explore that story arc. Gregor, not likely, but possible. Cody? almost impossible. Orders AT-TE Shoot at Jedi and gets Captain promotion? Your going to have a hard time explaining why the Empire is worth abandoning to that guy.

Rex's age also is saddening, that means by ROTJ, they all would be dead or close to death...

Maybe I should of watched the last 8 episodes of rebels...

Yes you should.

Sabine changed her hair colour...!

Girls.

Big question is who is that skinny, presumably female, inquisitor?

Definitely female:

Seems like the only recurring female character in the trailer. So it might be Sarah Michelle Gellar.

It's been confirmed by people at celebration that

everything but the clones and the inquisitors is from the 2 part season premier that aired there.

Buffy the Jedi Slayer...

Actually, given the nature of her character, it would have been kinda cool if they had made it a thing where her hair color changed every episode.

As is, maybe they'll just change it each season.

Eh, not quite.

All the B-Wing stuff is not in the premiere, none of the Ice Planet stuff (although I guess that's part of the Clones bits) is, actually none of the returning Clone Wars characters (there are several more) are in the premiere at all.

So...overall... super stoked for this season to start! I think I'm actually looking forward to it more than Episode VII...

On October 2, 2014, the series was renewed for a second season. [46] On January 30, 2015, it was confirmed by Freddie Prinze, Jr. that the second season will contain "nearly twice as many episodes" as season one. On April 18, 2015, it was confirmed that many characters from the Clone Wars series would be returning, including Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex, and Hondo Ohnaka. [47] On March 3, 2015, Sarah Michelle Gellar joined the cast for season two.

From Wikipedia.

Yeah this looks incredible. My favorite parts of the OT were the space battles and I've been worried about episode VII's space battles being as disappointing as the PT's or worse because of how much I dislike the space battles in the Star Trek film's Abrams directed.

I'm almost at your stage, I have come to accept and like the fact that the new films will reboot Star Wars. I didn't mind the vong stories as a series but I'm not fussed to see them gone...it would have been too hard work to work around them for the new films.

The thing that bugs me is the content being pumped in around this part of the timeline. I feel that all EU stuff inbetween movies should have stayed as canon.
