Rebels Season 2 Trailer

By Keoki, in X-Wing

Why is everything happening on this one planet anyways?

Because they can haz Jedi

I'll second the question about trying to watch proprietary digital content, ideally Disney would have a website to watch this stuff on otherwise I don't have cable/satellite.

And can I skip season 1 and just go straight to season 2? It seemed like a viable strategy with The Clone Wars.

No you can't entirely skip season 1, at least Watch Episodes 1,5,10,16 and 22. 16 is optional though, it's just back story set just before the movie, but it follows a pretty good clone story arc.

You can skip most of Season One, but definitely catch "Lair of Grievous" and "Hostage Crisis" (episodes 10 and 22, apparently).

Some of the rest of it isn't so bad, but ten is one of the few times Grievous is actually interesting and 22 ends the season with the introduction of Cad Bane and sets up the second season. Both are among the best episodes of the series, and early signs of how good the show ends up being.

EDIT: To echo the poster above me, you would still miss a good deal of set-up for future episodes and introductions of characters. By the same rationale you should also watch the Clone Wars movie, but you also shouldn't watch it because it's terrible .

If you skip any episodes, skip maybe 1-4 and 6-9 (5 isn't bad, and is the first Rex-centric episode... and Rex, despite being a clone and genetically identical to millions of other individuals, is one of the more amazing characters in the series). That will push you past a bunch of pointless Grievous/Gunray mustache-twirling ending in predictable failure and Jar Jar shenanigans, and the standalone pilot with Yoda that's... meh.

Rest of the season, save 12 (more Jar Jar) is at least tolerable, and I think there's actually a few episodes with Hondo in them, which instantly puts them in the "must see" category. So to backpedal from what I said earlier, you can really skip maybe half the first season. Even the more forgettable, and Jar Jar free, episodes are better than Phantom Menace.

You can't skip Episode 1. Yoda+ clones + life lessons. that Episode was fantastic.

I don't have cable either.

Netflix has all of Clone Wars, and I am buying the Rebels show season by season through Google play. I can watch the show on my nexus stuff, or on my PC, or by connecting my PC to my TV with an HDMI cable.

Ditto ditto, except iTunes through an AppleTV.

Ill just continue to dismiss it as the silly kids cartoon it is.

All while playing starfighter with little plastic toys, and racking up thousands of posts about those little plastic toys, which is serious business , right?

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite post on the X-Wing forum.

Why is everything happening on this one planet anyways?

Because that's where the show is set?

This is like complaining NYPD Blue is always in New York.

That's a good point. Why ARE the NYPD only seen in New York? I smell a conspiracy!

You guys need to stop calling the A-Wing an A-Wing.

It's an R-22.

Finally somebody understands me! [sobs of joy]

Oh i'm so sorry i didn't realise i wasn't allowed to make up my own mind about what is and isn't good, because i like starwars must i like every single product? i mean i always thought the xmas special was naff but from what your saying i have to like it right?

Old gods forbid that people be allowed to have their own personal tastes and be individuals.

Oh and everyone who's got more than 1k posts apparently critias here thinks were are sad lifeless losers so how about we all meet up at my place i'll go out now and get some cool aid.

Grow the hell up, i don't like rebels so what? i also don't like the made for TV ewok movies or the ewok cartoon, lots and lots of things involving starwars are outright crap it's up to the individual to pick what they do and don't like not you.

This is a forum everyones allowed to express their view, everyones allowed to either agree or disagree with said view you don't like it then don't log in and read it, it's not your place to try and belittle anyone for spending their free time how ever they like.

It is okay to not like Rebels. But expect to get some flack when you attack it by calling it "a silly kids cartoon".

Yes, its a kids cartoon. But in the vein of Avatar, Legend of Korra, Batman: TAS, and Gargoyles. As dark as The Clone Wars got, it was an immature kind of dark.

The horse is dead Hobo, leave it be.

The producers call it an A-wing. It might be an R-22 A-wing rather than an RZ-1 A-wing but it's not an R-22 Spearhead.

Dude. It's "Kool Aid"

*shakes head*

So uncivilized.

Personally, while season 2 looks awesome, I hated that trailer. It's the bad trailer philosophy of spoiling massive reveals and showing events from seemingly the entire season. And managing that in three minutes. The episode 7 trailers have been great at not revealing much about the plot, so I expected not to have major spoilers.

Except i said I'll continue, that effects me and only me it's not a statement aimed at anyone else.

To me this stuff is worse than Binks. Kids program trying to be adult and just to top it off it is classed as canon.

The animations do look great on the spaceships... I just can't get past the dialogue between animated characters.

So you didn't watch Clone Wars either, I presume?

Which means you missed out on Cad Bane.

Which means you missed out on the best Star Wars character, Legends included, since Han Solo.

But he did avoid aroma tanto one of the worst, and spared himself the jar jar episodes.

Clone wars was just rubbing salt into the wounds the prequels made.

You do realize your opinions are not only not shared by a majority of Star Wars fans, but are actually quite shallow and ignorant, right?

Not to put word in Hobo's mouth but I think he is looking for a more "serious" and "grim" show...personally I love all the new Star Wars stuff as it brings some of the wonder back into the universe. My inner 7-year old is very happy...continuity or realism be damned.

Yeah, because forum posts are never read by anyone and your simple-minded, ignorant opinions are never inflammatory or derogatory in any way, shape or form...

Star Wars has NEVER been serious OR grim... It's gotten dark at times, but people like Hobo who think that it has to be as serious and complex as a show like American Horror Show are looking in the wrong place for entertainment.

But, what about the skeletons of Luke's foster parents, face down in the sand?

interesting!

But, what about the skeletons of Luke's foster parents, face down in the sand?

It has its dark moments, sure, but it's not the overall tone of Star Wars.

And even Clone Wars has a few "darker" moments:

The finale of the battle between the Brothers Maul and Sidious

A Jedi in one episode gets gunned down by battle droids like that scene from the Godfather

Fett has some PTSD about his decapitated father

Ziro is gunned down by the love of his life, tragically for him (though honestly, to the benefit of the viewer)

Freaking zombie Geonosians

A lot of people get outright impaled by lightsabers, and a few helmeted chaps get beheaded

Darth Maul is a crippling insane half-spider monstrosity

Riff Tamson freaking mauling people because he's a godsdamned shark

He also makes people explode. But some of them are Gungans, soo...

It's definitely not GI Joe, where despite all the gunfire no one ever gets hit. It's also not The Evil Dead.

Honestly, whoever compared it to Batman: The Animated Series had it spot on. Honestly, I have to think at least a few kids had nightmares for weeks following the zombie Geonosian episode With the worm coming out of the mouth...

And even Clone Wars has a few "darker" moments.

Don't forget the teenage main character convincing a bunch of kids to hide in the woods and murder the adults who kidnapped them and brought them there.

R-22 spear head okay yeah.
T-60? No it didn't have S-foils, the clip shows the S-foils.

X1... Well they killed everything else..
Wasn't the clones supposed to be aged faster? Thus why stormies had to take over?
I like the animations both sides, story seems fishy.

I did like the clip over all.

It's okay. Not a bread winner for me but I'm just me.

The clones look like they've aged more than twenty years.

According to wookiepedia (maybe not always the best source, but what I have), the clones ages at twice the rate of normal humans. I'd say Rex n' friends in Rebels look like men in their seventies. Given that Rex appears physically to be in his mid-30s or so during Clone Wars, I think their appearance in Rebels is pretty spot on for how old they should be as twentyish years have passed, meaning Rex has aged 40 years.

Because, honestly, if you're in your 50s and you look like that, you must've lead a really hard life. And smoked a carton a day.
