Rebels Season 2 Trailer

By Keoki, in X-Wing

Okay I like it... now.

:)

Who is going to be the first to paint the orange B-Wing?

its not a b wing it's a H60 Tempest its got 2 cocpits heres the wookipedia link http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/H-60_Tempest_bomber

still its cool that the spearhead and tempest are staying canon

That one had folding wings... Pretty sure its an early B-Wing concept.

The A-Wing protos are a neat add in, of course since season 1 time has grown closer to Episode 4's start, so that's acceptable... But the B-wing is a bit of a stretch, However as mentioned above It's probably the prototype, of course that doesn't make much sense either, I thought the B-Wing wasn't designed until the Mon Cals got involved...

Also anyone get the feeling the finale is going to be a battle between Asoka, Rex, and Vader, with our new characters as well?

what they've probably done is merge the b wing concept drawings and the tempest and if they say its a modified tempest in the series that would be great

Hey guys. =( I have a dumb question. How do you even watch this show? I've been hiding under a rock with a wifi port for the last 10 years.

Oh wait, wifis dont need ports. guys look, I have wifis.

The R22 existed before yavin it's a non issue which is why you never saw me objecting to them, but the Mon cals didn't join until after yavin when the alliance proved the empire could be defeated, so having a ship not even in development turn up is an issue.

Ill just continue to dismiss it as the silly kids cartoon it is.

Then why not chalk up Star Wars as the kid's film it was half intended to be, which is also when you saw it?

Yeah all that dismemberment, decapitation and death combined with scantily clad women, nothing for adults in those movies at all.

To me this stuff is worse than Binks. Kids program trying to be adult and just to top it off it is classed as canon.

The animations do look great on the spaceships... I just can't get past the dialogue between animated characters.

So you didn't watch Clone Wars either, I presume?

Which means you missed out on Cad Bane.

Which means you missed out on the best Star Wars character, Legends included, since Han Solo.

But he did avoid aroma tanto one of the worst, and spared himself the jar jar episodes.

Clone wars was just rubbing salt into the wounds the prequels made.

I assume you mean Ahsoka Tano... who is really bad in the movie and about the first season, but there's a reason she's in Rebels: she develops into a very strong character as the series goes on.

And yes, he avoided the Jar Jar episodes, which are thankfully few and far between, and mostly easily skipped. Amidala episodes are a close second usually in terms of "ughhhhhhh". And you also have Ziro the Hutt, but he's kept to a minimum post CW movie.

I think once CW starts to find its feet near the end of the first season and moves past the formulaic "Grievous has an evil plan, Jedi foil him", it actually makes the prequel period much, much more interesting and if anything only does itself a disservice the times it tries to shoehorn in characters from the original trilogy. It does thrice more with Anakin Skywalker and Darth Maul than the movies ever did (Anakin is officially serviceable rather than groan-inducing, and holy crap Darth Maul should've started off as an insane spiderbot), and it introduces oodles of more interesting characters into the universe.

To refuse to watch Clone Wars because "OMG the prequels ruined my childhood with the Jar Jars" is to deny yourself Cad Bane arcs, Clone Trooper episodes, Hondo Ohnaka, anything with the young Boba Fett (for those unaware, he teams with Bossk and Aurra Sing and it's amazing ), a Darth Maul with actual character (and some amazing episode like "The Lawless")... there's far, far more good than bad in CW. Yes, there's also an episode where Jar Jar and C-3PO team up and it's quite possible the worst half hour of television ever made. However, there's also an episode where General Grievous fights a horde of zombies.

There's "salt rubbing" from Jar Jar, sure, but any true lover of Star Wars is only denying him/herself if they completely abstain from Clone Wars. If nothing else, find the episodes that feature Cad Bane and watch them.

Clone wars was fantastic. If you didn't see season six you are hugely missing out.

I just had a quick watch of a scene with him versus Obi Wan and Quinlan Vos...he did look pretty badass. Also a species that should show up more in Star Wars.

Hondo Ohnaka?

Hondo is second best since Solo, after Bane.

I'm legitimately sad his flying saucer is far too large to probably ever find its way into X-Wing.

I'll second the question about trying to watch proprietary digital content, ideally Disney would have a website to watch this stuff on otherwise I don't have cable/satellite.

And can I skip season 1 and just go straight to season 2? It seemed like a viable strategy with The Clone Wars.

I watched Clone Wars on Netflix, but as far as I know Rebels hasn't hit yet. I'm looking forward to watching it, because (like others)… no cable.

It's the only ship that I've even considered homebrewing.

I am also a fan of Bane.

No you can't. Season one sets up the characters and the story

You can skip most of Season One, but definitely catch "Lair of Grievous" and "Hostage Crisis" (episodes 10 and 22, apparently).

Some of the rest of it isn't so bad, but ten is one of the few times Grievous is actually interesting and 22 ends the season with the introduction of Cad Bane and sets up the second season. Both are among the best episodes of the series, and early signs of how good the show ends up being.

EDIT: To echo the poster above me, you would still miss a good deal of set-up for future episodes and introductions of characters. By the same rationale you should also watch the Clone Wars movie, but you also shouldn't watch it because it's terrible .

If you skip any episodes, skip maybe 1-4 and 6-9 (5 isn't bad, and is the first Rex-centric episode... and Rex, despite being a clone and genetically identical to millions of other individuals, is one of the more amazing characters in the series). That will push you past a bunch of pointless Grievous/Gunray mustache-twirling ending in predictable failure and Jar Jar shenanigans, and the standalone pilot with Yoda that's... meh.

Rest of the season, save 12 (more Jar Jar) is at least tolerable, and I think there's actually a few episodes with Hondo in them, which instantly puts them in the "must see" category. So to backpedal from what I said earlier, you can really skip maybe half the first season. Even the more forgettable, and Jar Jar free, episodes are better than Phantom Menace.

Make sure you watch all the episodes that focus on the clone trooper squad with Heavy, Echo and Fives. They are some of the best characters in the whole thing. Not quite Hondo, but still, they are worth watching for.

Big question is who is that skinny, presumably female, inquisitor?

Bariss? Asajj? Mara Jade (Rumors are it could be a Mara inspired character).

also WOW :D

Sariss, clearly.

OH! Derp.

I'm still making my way through Rebels S1. It hasn't been all that bad, the Jedi-centric bits in particular have amused me. Didn't much care for the episode with Ezra undercover at Stormtrooper school, which is the last I've seen.

But Freddie Prinze continues to prove to me he's kind of awesome at the whole voice acting thing.

S1 is really good actually. The finale was amazing.

Well, that clearly shows Vader post Raider.

I don't have cable either.

Netflix has all of Clone Wars, and I am buying the Rebels show season by season through Google play. I can watch the show on my nexus stuff, or on my PC, or by connecting my PC to my TV with an HDMI cable.

IMO, everyone that is a fan of Star Wars should watch all of both The Clone Wars and Rebels. Anything you might subjectively deem as bad content will allow you to further enjoy the plethora of fantastic stories.

Ill just continue to dismiss it as the silly kids cartoon it is.

All while playing starfighter with little plastic toys, and racking up thousands of posts about those little plastic toys, which is serious business , right?
