Maybe that's not much competive, but having a Hwk dealing damage is pretty funny anyway.

I think that the Firespray is one of best ships for the cost and the Zs are just there for blocking purpose and to draw some fire (and also deal some if utterly ignored).

Hey, I saw you play this on Vassal!

The real problem here is that Palob is the very obvious target to take out first as he's the only heavy hitter, while also being the least nimble member of the group. It's just a HWK, so being the primary target is going to lead to lots of early deaths for Palob.

You need to beef up that Firespray and probably drop RecSpec from it. RecSpec is only good on him if he's the primary target to allow him to use Focus both defensively and offensively in the same round, but with Palob around the Merc isn't going to see a lot of shots thrown his way. Opportunist is really, really fun to have on a second ship as well (say, the Firespray) as it means Palob's theft, or avoidance of his theft from people refusing to use those actions, will result in two extra attack dice per round of shooting. You could switch that RecSpec on the Firespray out for a K4 then, since you'll be removing stress a bunch anyways, allowing you to TL+Focus a target every turn that you then blast with Opportunist for four or five TL+Focus modified dice. The one thing to worry about would be ships with PTL, as they could take potentially both an evade and a focus in the same turn, as could a ship with RecSpec double up on Focus tokens. But if they do that, they're also guaranteeing Palob will have something to ******.

Realistically, you can even drop RecSpec from Palob. Come in slow building your focus tokens, and once you're in close you can start stealing them to keep you supplied. Could replace the RecSpec with an Outlaw Tech to give you some more maneuvering options, or yet another K4 to help you modify dice without exhausting for focus tokens. Though RecSpec is still probably a solid way to go with it if you're really worried about being caught without focus tokens.

And you could even change up a bigger chunk of the list, drop at least one pirate and the Firespray for a couple Ys with ion turrets to protect Palob, using control and the 360 arc to cripple ships and leave them at Palob's mercy.

But you can and need to add some more legitimate threats in the list. Cubby's list up top is a good way to go with it, too, as it gives the pirates some guaranteed damage to throw out and the Firespray become more dangerous offensively with the Mangler and will be much harder to deal with once Palob drops thanks to the EU.

comradebot's assessment is dead on accurate. The reason i run the list with an EU on the firespray is that I will NEVER run it without an EU again. Its wide ass (ship base) and blindspots are too easily taken advantage of by nimble ships. EU firesprays also become endgame finishers if not targeted first.

Palob w/ Opportunist + Blaster Turret is a real beast. Unfortunately, he is an obvious target.

To alleviate this problem, you can either run him along with Serissu, or add more ships that are equally frightening, for example:

Palob w/ Opportunist, Blaster Turret, K4 droid, moldy crow & hull upgrade = 37

Kavil w/ Opportunist, Blaster Turret & unhinged droid = 33

Leaves you with 30 points to round out the list. I think either of these options could work:

Dace w/ determination, Ion Turret & greedo

or

Drea Renthal w/ Ion Turret & R4-B11

3 hard hitting turrets that are not super easy to destroy...

Thanks all for your suggestions, i'll give them a try even if i don't want to drop the mercenary, so i'll put Paolb on diet and try to beef the Firespray offensive phase.

I also need more and more flight practice as i used this list just twice, and a better luck at dice as today I rolled really poorly :P

I took some of your advices, i'll have to try this.

I don't like Mangler over Predator, so i kept the latter.

Banans are there to annoy and give some damage if they can, Palob is still Palob even if a little cheaper.
