My guess, the money line is -1000 on the under.

Edited by any2cardsHappy posters don't make topics on their satisfaction.
Edited by PewPewPewInstead they just go to the list building forum.
We have a list building forum?
for a long time now?
My point, which I feel is very valid, is that for some time now, many X-Wing fans on this forum have been taking the attitude of "just wait until we have the ordinance fix, all with be right with the world".
I honestly don't see this being the case. I hope I am wrong, as ordinance is mostly pointless in this game, despite the fact that there are enough ships which in theory should be using it.
I just can't imagine what change can be made that will offer both balance across all ships / pilots that are allowed to use the fix, and at the same time make ordinance worth taking.
Now, admittedly, I am not the most creative individual, but in reading the ***plethora*** of posts on this forum relating to ordinance fixes, I have yet to see a single one which will achieve both of the above.
I don't want to end up being disappointed, but I suspect I will, as I believe the challenge is too great ...
Just saying ...
Edited by any2cardsI think the backlash has much less to do with mechanics as it is the selection of models. The mechanics might be that fix everyone is hoping for, but packaged with models their less than thrilled about. Love then or hate them, K-wings have their niche fanbase, but the Tie Punisher? Is there even a targeted fanbase?
Hopefully the mechanics prove good enough to transcend model gripes
I am starting to think. The "Heaver" Bombers are their just to beef up Epic Play, not so much to add to the Standard Format. But time will tell.
I think it was mostly a consequence of my asides with the panelists yesterday, but I came away with a lot more faith in the development process than I had before. I don't expect a perfect experience, but to know that they're aware of, thinking about, and actively working to rectify the game's shortcomings is very reassuring. A certain lack of transparency is necessary in their line of work, but you guys needn't assume the worst simply because they don't share those kinds of details with us.

I really tried to push the EDH concept on them yesterday. Not the format itself, but the fact that set design in Magic encompasses several different aspects of the game. Whenever a new card is spoiled, people will invariably comment with one of three different, predetermined responses: "good in standard," "good in EDH," or "good in limited." My point was that there's enough design space in a given wave to start pushing out ships and upgrades that appeal to players beyond the usual scope of the 100 point format.

EDH?
It's a Magic format with some unique dynamics, like no multiples of cards (beside basic lands), multiple players, persistent commanders/generals, and a much higher mana curve. The parallel between Magic and X-Wing that I was trying to emphasize had mostly to do with multiple players (here, teams) and the curve, which you can think of as an increase in the point cost paradigm. Big, splashy cards that would not be viable in standard due to being too expensive are perfectly playable, if not ideal, in EDH. And every set that comes out has those kinds of cards; Magic players don't have to wait for an EDH only release for new content for their preferred format. Why shouldn't X-Wing be able to do the same with epic?

No reason. I like the idea.
I also get giddy with the idea that I could run support while someone else runs assault.
My point, which I feel is very valid...
Of course you do. You wouldn't have said it otherwise...
