I LOVE WAVE SEVEN!

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in X-Wing

Standard ties aren't meant to go into an atmosphere. I will grant you that structural stability important and is accounted for in these designs.

They aren't? Because they sure do happen to find their way there a lot.

Saber squad had their ties specially adapted to fight in an atmosphere. Standard ties are space only.

Sounds like errata to me.

Wave 7 = worse wave yet. It's not even close. No way I'm buying the shovel wing. Even if it makes the Tie Defender an actual Tie Defender.

Time to buy a third showcase for X-Wing minis...

What are you using for showcases?

I like W7. I'll get multiples of each ship. Nothing mind-numbing awesome, but I'm glad with what they went with and how they realized the designs.

I really don't understand the hate. They look really good to me. Best of all they all look unique. In space there is no such thing as aerodynamics and they look like good practical designs for space combat to me.

That's only half true, since structural integrity has to be taken into account, and star wars ships are always finding their way into the skies.

You'd have to consider that with the forces these ships are subjected to, structural integrity should in no way depend simply on the physical structure. It would have to be handled with the same or similar fields as inertial dampeners.

Think about the hyperspace-capable fighters. A jump to lightspeed in a however-well-structured metal ship would render it and its occupants into component atoms. There has to be an energy field maintaining the craft's integrity; not a stretch to imagine it being always-on.

I've also assumed if you have SIF, inertial dampeners, artificial gravity, repulsors, and deflector shields, it would be easy enough to project an aerodynamic shell around any craft for atmospheric flight. That's made any SW ship's atmospheric presence easier for me to accept, and removes the need for the ships themselves to be especially aerodynamic.

ALL DAT!

:D

Why do some people even care, it looks cool, cause it IS Cool! Good Nuff!

;)

The rest is just nit-pick "I was in the military!" talk these haters attempt (VERY wrongly!) to force on-into a SCIENCE FANTASY UNIVERSE.

:mellow::huh::rolleyes:

Hel-Nah! You can keep dat real world mentality outtah here you trouble makers!!!

:P

This is all wrong and belongs with the meta-bettah-blah.

Dammit it's STAR WARS!

^_^

-> Played a guy with double IG yesterday.

-> He tells me he owns every ship but the IG because its ugly.

-> I beat him very hard with them.

-> Goes and buys 2 IGs, slightly cursing

Is there a pic of the side, straight on, of the K-wing? What about a direct Top down view? The back? The bottom?

I need more input before I say it looks great, but so far, I like it in miniature! :D

I took a few pictures of the new displayed ships.

So... YOU hate that glorious K-Wing do you?! Why are you even here then?

:o:huh::lol:

Star Brothers... I do believe we are going to see an enfilade of coolness on the ORDNANCE front...

Just..., not as criticism, but I really can't figure it out.

The K-wing, where does the pilot sit?

AWESOME Star Brother! Thanks for adding to the topic, you are an ACE!

:)

There are two cockpits right up front.

I am so happy, i always knew we would get the K-Wing and not the stupid characterless Havoc thing...

Im not mad on the hounds tooth (looks like a broken house brick) but other than that its all cool stuff to me too.

Nothing truly awful tbh

I mean i dont like the agressor if anything, star viper was 'ok' and i never really liked the phantom and defender all that much so i'm thinking we've had far worse waves.

Shame no gun/missile boat though.

Wait for it... Wait for it.

;)

The Tie Punisher looks so big it should be on a large base. But I understand, we don't WANT it on a large base. Anyway, that's probably as big as smale-base ships can get. It seems to me to be right at the limit, pershaps slightly over...

Hounds tooth should be interesting to play with for its 180 degree fire arc, and I'm looking forward to the K-Wing because it looks like it might have a new action. Khiraxh (henceforth known as ScumE) isn't really catching my interest though

And I'll love the Punisher just because it's another ship to crush the Rebel Scum with :D

My little Wave 7 Article. Nothing incredible... just me sharing the news and a few thoughts about it at B6*R7.

:D

How cool is it that the FFG team got the first preview out a few days after the big fun at STAR WARS CELEBRATION... in my book it is all very very very cool!

The past five days have been STAR WARS Awesomeness!
