Unique pilots. Which faction takes priority.

Hi, I have just got some of the S&V ships and it looks like some unique pilots appear in S&V and Imperial factions.

I would assume the S&V take priority.

Is this correct?

I think the Empire takes priority.

not sure what you mean by "take priority"

if you mean decide initiative order, the only reference to it in casual play is a scenario in the Aggressor expansion which lists it as imperial then rebel then scum.

Not initial order but pilot selection.

Presumably, Boba Fett cannot fight for Imperials and S&V, so which faction can have him? I believe there are others, Kath Scarlett?

Both players can have their own copies of uniques.

Boba is already a clone, so there is definately a precedent to explain why he might potentially run into himself :)

You're reading too much into it. Each faction is separate to itself. If you want to add a house rule that the same S&V cannot be on the table as the Imperial pilot, go for it.

You can play a game where each side is fielding IDENTICAL units all the way down to any number of unique pilots and upgrade. "Unique" only applies to your squadron.

Now if you are playing some kind of scenario then you'll need to consult the scenario rules or make up your own. If it is a real problem then I suggest you just REMOVE the shared unique from both squadrons.

Here's the relevant passage from the Tournament Rules. It would also apply to separate factions with the same unique pilots.

If players using the same faction are paired for a match, all normal game rules apply. Each player may field cards with unique names even if his opponent is using a card with the same unique name.

Man, could you imagine if pilots were unique between all players? Things would get bloody over who gets to actually use Soontir Fel.

When the dust settles, the one still flying is the real one.

The rest were but pale imitations.

For a short time, my group of friends with pooled ships/everything had an issue with one guy who would grab certain upgrade cards before anyone else.

If this ever comes up...I get to use Soontir Fel..I do!!!

We are best buds and plus I have all the cookies!

My thoughts: 1) what exactly do you mean by "takes priority"? 2) each faction (Imps and S&V in this case) have their own specific cards for "twin" pilots (Fett and Kath, at this point). You can only use the Imp Boba in an Imp squad, and you can only use the S&V Boba in an S&V squad. Is that what you're asking?

Given the mercenary nature of bounty hunters, for casual games & only if having identical pilots irks you, both players could bid for them out of their points cost?
Whoever wins, uses the pilot & has that many less points to spend on other ships & upgrades.

Of course this could be open to abuse, so I'd recommend bidding cautiously!

Just for clarification, that would be a house rule and not an actual rule.
