3 months ago I started my X Wing collection, and got adicted. Obviously, I am not fluent in english, sorry. I am quite old (40+) and not a competitive guy, so I run away from competitive play (100 pts doghfight in an asteroid field). I have some experience playing ww2 and jetfighter wargames (fighting wings, the speed of heat, etc), so I usually play "scenario" themed games, 200-400 pts.

I will try to make some suggetions, thanks in advance

I don't know how many large-base ships you have, but they (and the Aces packs) come with scenarios. There is also FFG's Mission Control which lets you design missions and scenarios, and see what others have come up with.

Hope that helps, happy flying!

Thanks !!! I will read Mission Control for sure. I own all the small ships plus Rebel and Imperial Large ones. Aprox 70 ships. I would recomend J.D. Webster wargames covering air warfare as a source of ideas to create your own scenarios. Great source of inspiration.

Greetings, Hexdot! (nice collection, btw. 70 ships!)

We seem to have many similarities, bravo! Our group is all over 40 and mainly play thematic or scenario based games. The joust in the rocks just isn't as interesting to me as well. Love of Star Wars trumps all the competitive posturing with us, thank goodness (last tournament I went to, a lot of folks kept asking me which player was my kid...???).

Definitely check out Mission Control, while the Forums are really grand for learning tips and the discussions have been invaluable to us for card combinations and the like. Maybe you will like re-painting and rebuilding too, it's my favourite thing lately.

Have fun and Fly (Paint) Casual...

You're not alone

our group prefer scenarios

100 point , 6 rock, deathmatch gets tedious after a while.
