A lot of weapons in the rulebook have letters after their damage. For example, the lasgun deals 1d10+3 E damage, and the autogun deals 1d10+3 I. What do these letters mean? Thanks in advance!
What do the letters after damage mean?
The damage type: "Energy" - E, "Explosive" - X, "Rending" - R, "Impact" - I
Generally speaking, its really only there to interact with some fairly obscure rules, as well as dictate which table of the Critical Damage table (p. 234-241) you use when a character takes critical damage.
