Just a free piece of advice for people looking for a cheap game mat that does the job and doesn't look terrible. I ordered mine from yogadirect.com but you can probably find them at lots of places. They grip the ships really well. Just make sure you get a black one.

And for those of you who have really fancy mats that you ordered from Europe or Kickstarter, yes, what you have looks better and I would totally buy that if I weren't so cheap.

I also figured out, that I have a rubber mat, which has exactly 3 x 6. it's black, and it's used to put under weightlifting benches.

maybe splatter some white paint on it, and you got a star field

Some of the X-wing and Attack Wing guys at my FLGS started using these mats about a month ago, they are fantastic.

This is the one I got. Get it in black, not blue as pictured. It is solid black. It does have texture, but the ships still sit perfectly flat. It reminds me of the shelf liner type of material that some people were sticking on the bottom of their Attack Wing or X-Wing ships to help them grip the board, only thicker. It had a slight curl when I first opened it, but it flattened out pretty easily. The mat is slightly glossy and sometimes I notice a little glare under bright lights, but I don't notice it most of the time. I'm very happy with it for what I paid.

I want one, one problem. $87 for postage to Australia. Talk about a kick in the noodle scooters.
