They Actually Made The TIE interdictor?!

By TIE Pilot, in X-Wing

Wait, we're ragging on the Punisher as silly looking but saying *this* is cool?

Ooookay.

Yup.

That looks like a big ol' wang.

You people worry me.

Seriously, if your wang looks like this...

...GO SEE A DOCTOR! You've got something very, very wrong going on 'down there', ifyaknowwhatImean...

The only wrong thing is the appearance of... that thing.

Wait, doesn't this game already have a big problem with most torpedoes/bombs/missiles not being worth their points? Why would they add a TIE Bomber Advanced when nobody takes the original TIE Bomber?

Wave 7 is designed to fix that. That's why they released two Super Bombers: so they can release a ton of cards.

Interested as to how the Super Bombers work mechanically though given the TIE bomber already has more weapon slots than you could ever reasonably use. The Interdictor's got to feel like it's packing four times the firepower.

You obviously don't play Epic mode where you can get 300 points. While in a 100 point game, Bombers are hard to bring to a competive format, FFG is also looking beyond just the 100 pt game. Even in a 300 pt game ordinance needs a fix. Hopefully with the potential fix it'll make the Bombers even more of a threat in 100 pt games, but brutal in a 300 point game when attacking capital ships or swarms.

I doubt they'd make a release be intentionally useless in their main format.

What I was getting it as I'm intrigued to see how the K-wing and TIE interdictor will be mechanically distinct from the Y-wing and TIE bomber.

I seem to be the only one who actually likes both the interdictor and the scimitar, so I was going to be pretty happy with either.

The k-wing though.... Close to the ugliest ship I have seen in sci fi.

Agree with this completely.

Hound's Tooth is pretty fugly too. Never liked Dengar's ship either, though I figure we were due to get minimum one of them in S&V.

To me at least I'd far prefer this new TIE Punisher to the Scimitar. Yes everyone has their preference. But the Punisher is my over the Scimitar. I said in another thread this Wave doesn't excite me very much so I'm really wondering how they'll fix ordnance. That, again for me at least, is where my interests lie.

...So yours doesn't have solar panels?

I'm one of those rare people that likes both the TIE Punisher and the Scimitar. Not a fan of the K-Wing, but I'm interested in seeing how it plays. I don't know anything about the Khiraxz, and I don't have strong feelings about the Hound's Tooth.

I think this wave is clearly where we are getting our ordinance fix.

fine, its not a dong.

its a mechanized bowling pin. how is that better?

It looks like something out of the DUST Warfare game, rather than star wars, like some kind of Sovjet proto TIE fighter.

I would have preferred the scimitar over the punisher, mostly because it has a more distinct look from the TIE bomber. The punisher makes sense visually, and I have no major issues with it, it's just really similar to the TIE bomber. The scimitar would bring less of the traditional TIE appearance that we have so much of already.

I would take the assault gunboat over either of them though, TIEs are great but I would love to see something with more visual variety in the imperial fleet than another TIE variant that doesn't deviate much from the standard TIE design template.

Out of all the directions FFG could have went with Imperial ordnance, the Punisher is the most underwhelming, IMO. It looks like one of the 'ugly' series; let's cobble together tie bombers. Out of a selection of several unique candidates, FFG went with a completely uninspired design

Everyone had their own preference, but I think the Punisher has universally disappointed.

Same.

I don't know what the hell you people are packing in your pants to think lancers and scimitars resemble it but like, did the singularity reach you guys already? Because good lord.

Just so you guys know, threatening to jump ship to another Star Wars tabletop mini game from the current Star Wars tabletop mini game made by the same company that designs and markets both, just because you don't like one or two ships that will be released in a wave (that isn't even scheduled to be released yet) isn't a threat to anybody.

I doubt they'd make a release be intentionally useless in their main format.

They've already released two, and everyone is excitedly waiting on the third one.

Actually I got in on the recent Wings of Glory Kickstarter and got the Starter Pack and 4 planes for a good price. It isn't Star Wars but I love WWI aerial also and more people can relate.

Wings of Glory actually looks like a cool game and if that's something your interested in, I say go for it.

I'm a huge xwing fan, but this wave. ...... sucks. The tie punisher is unin spires garbage that would seem at first glance to make the bomber obsolete. Most of the EU tie variants are awful, and this one is no exception. A lot of people wanted the hounds tooth, so, ok. Not personally a fan but to each their own. We have another scum fighter (did we need one between the ywing, z95, and the syck?) and it wasn't even something like the blast boat, that would have been logical. No assault gunboat for the empire? This tie abomination instead? That is a golden opportunity missed. Which brings us to the kwing...... enough said. Only ship in looking forward to is the raider. I've bought a lot of every wave so far, but not this time. Pass.

Looks like we have reached the point where we are scraping the bottom of the barrel for ships.

I'll continue to play this great game with what I have. Looks like I'll finally have money to spend on other things now. Really disappointed.

Bye! You'll be missed, of course, because nobody can afford to lose customers. But it's only been a few hours, and I'm already incredibly frustrated with the apparently large number of people who have already decided there's nothing here for them.

I did not say I was leaving. I specifically said I would continue to play this great game with what I have. Now, I will probably by a kwing or punisher for the ordinance stuff, because I am interested in fixing it so I can use tie Bombers, not replace them with this ridiculous thing. What you don't seem to get is that I love this game, and I don't want to see them screw it up.

P.s. Scimitar would have been worse, but only a little.

Normally, I would have preordered 3 or 4 of each ship by now, but not this time. And that is my point. This wave sucks.

Besides, slam was always a dumb idea, and it looks like both heavy bombers will have a form of super boost, which of course is ridiculous as well. These heavy, massive ships out accelerate an awing. Yeah, that makes sense. Let's face it, some of the EU was stupid, and should have been left for dead. Some of it was awesome, and that's where we should be going. (Assault gunboat from tie fighter? That I would by 3 of!)

But, I never said I was leaving. Love this game too much for that.

y'know, I'm not seeing a wang, but the front of that thing does look like an Apollo Service module or something. Did someone kit-bash this out of Revell model rockets?

Coming out: I absolutely adore the Scimitar.

Those belly-mounted concussion missile launchers SCREAM Macross-style missile spam.

With all this talk of wangs, I read that as missile sperm. Checked the link... basically would be a sea faring critters way of doing so. So if this ship ever gets released Im blaming you for me announcing "fertilization commencing" when launching missiles.
