Probably LFL said to FFG (or FFG said themselves, although Stay on Target calls it an Interdictor) that it's not an Interdictor because it doesn't have gravity well generators on it.

You mean the Ages of Empire mod where we cut down trees to build R2 units? The best thing to come out of that were the Darth Vader dog tags I got for pre-ordering it. I played Force Commander more than that game.

The scimitar looks like someone set out to design it. The Interdictor is a copy-paste job. I'm judging this newcomer on apparent creative effort necessary to design it, which is nil next to the Scimitar (or even the Oppressor, which is ridiculous in itself).

The K wing looks like it took a lot if effort too. There is a word for over-designed.

Hey... they called this craft the TIE interdictor in the RPG! And they changed the name here?

There is one cardinal reason why the TIE Interdictor Punisher is worse than the TIE Scimitar, and that's because the TIE Interdictor is a copy-paste job.

Even the TIE Oppressor, which I hate, brings custom components to the design by changing the wing shapes and adding custom bits. This? This is a frankstein effort of stitching more guns on to a ship for the simple sake of fulfilling a stupid mechanic in a largely forgettable game.

I'm not sure if I should be more disappointed in LFL for dictating this design, or for FFG making one Imperial release of the wave. If this combination keeps up, we're gonna get 2 scum ships per wave and make it highly possible for Empire and Rebel players to get dud entries just like this. What's next, Wave 8 gives us the TIE Oppressor? Or the TIE Raptor, or an Ugly??

I was going to jump to Armada until the Imperial releases for X-Wing got more interesting... but if this is the future of X-Wing my stay in Armada might be longer. When I have to choose between scum and badly designed wunderwaffen and driving Star Destroyers, it's not a hard decision.

I'm judging it by how functional it looks, and it definitely looks like an upgunned TIE bomber. It could have been so much worse if they'd changed things for the sake of it.

I seem to be the only one who actually likes both the interdictor and the scimitar, so I was going to be pretty happy with either.

Man...so much negativity. How about "thanks, ffg,for giving us an awesome game to play that doesnt just focus on the most popular ships and gives us interesting, esoteric ships from deep in the EU." some of you need to listen to yourselves. I am very excited for wave 7. All of it. Punisher looks bad-ass. And the k-wing is evocative of an A-10 Warthog, both of which are bad-ass. Houndstooth will be killer, and the khiraxz should be solid...it's so hard to read these forums sometimes because of all the complaining.

For what it's worth, The TIE Bayonetta is actually an original design.

TIE Punisher is a logical bomber- its literally the improved bomber. Twin-linked missiles that are more likely to hit, shields, this thing will be a good addition. Hopefully it brings some mods/titles that help out the regular bomber.

I know it's not an FFG-original design, but seriously, guys, it's just ugly. It looks like it was knocked together too quickly by a lazy video game designer who realized he was supposed to have a new model done by Friday, and it's Friday morning and he hasn't even started one.

It looks like the kind of thing I would have been drawing in my notebook in elementary school and calling a super TIE bomber. It's lazy and boring design, and as others have said in terms of in game mechanics, going beyond the ordnance load a TIE Bomber can already take is absurd so what else is it going to bring to the table?

I'm a huge xwing fan, but this wave. ...... sucks. The tie punisher is unin spires garbage that would seem at first glance to make the bomber obsolete. Most of the EU tie variants are awful, and this one is no exception. A lot of people wanted the hounds tooth, so, ok. Not personally a fan but to each their own. We have another scum fighter (did we need one between the ywing, z95, and the syck?) and it wasn't even something like the blast boat, that would have been logical. No assault gunboat for the empire? This tie abomination instead? That is a golden opportunity missed. Which brings us to the kwing...... enough said. Only ship in looking forward to is the raider. I've bought a lot of every wave so far, but not this time. Pass.

Looks like we have reached the point where we are scraping the bottom of the barrel for ships.

I'll continue to play this great game with what I have. Looks like I'll finally have money to spend on other things now. Really disappointed.
