I will post any news *here*

By WonderWAAAGH, in X-Wing

I have only one humble question:

Why wasn't it named

TIE/IT Interdictor???

Just looking at the model and comparing it to wookieepedia, the Scum fighter they may have called a Kihraxz, but it's shaped like the upgraded Vaksai instead. Wondering if maybe it will come with a title card like the Scyk did?

Scratch that, zoomed in a bit further and it doesn't have the nose stabilizers of the Vaksai.

Had a chat with one of the panelists regarding the state of the rules. The response wasn't especially enlightening, sadly, but I'm hoping that my observations get pushed up the chain of command.

Haves: All miniatures and pilot cards from Wave 7

Wants: all upgrades related to bombs/torpedoes/missiles

Oops, wrong thread (?)

TIE Interdictor/Punisher http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/TIE/IT_Interdictor_starfighter

Looks like its a Rebel/Imp bomber-fix wave like previously suggested, plus a Scum flesh out.

If that is in response to me, yes I found that article (I identified the ship as the Interdictor already). That article says nothing about any TIE Punisher.

But yes, that is the ship for those not familiar with EU stuff (like me).

:)

I'm guessing that the "Punisher" will be at least 30 points and have a title/mod that will discount ordinance for both it and the regular bomber. If the Boost action is true for it... I'm very intrigued.

What did you bring up? The ongoing FAQ updates, or anything else in particular?

I'm going to go ahead and say it>
I predict the K-wing will be packing a 2-attack primary, and that strange action icon? A firepower boost. That way you get a modified 2-attack, or a natural 3

They also might have action-ized the double-attack of the BTL-A4 title...tough to tell, just by what I've read of the ship.

Actually, on that note, does anyone have a scan of the K-Wing page from the RPG books handy?

Any news on when the Raider will be out?

That does look like a new action on the K-Wing cardboard.

I'm not sure which book it is in for the FFG line. I'll double check money tonight. I'm only missing the Age of Rebellion core book.

Awesome, thanks. Holding you to that!

The idea of an updated rulebook, and consideration of the elements placed in more recent FFG products like keyword definitions, more explicit timing rules and uniform card templating. He admitted that design space was becoming limited, and with wordier text boxes comes restrictions on word choice. I cited the example of our earliest conversations regarding the Jan crew card, and how the words "another friendly" might have been omitted owing to word economy - he said that was a point he himself raised at a meeting.

I really pushed him on bringing the rules issues up to the development team, since they're going to need a more uniform and consistent approach if X-Wing is going to continue to rise as a competitive game. You can't have qualified judges without consistent rules, and you can't have a truly professional, competitive atmosphere without those judges.

My list of preferences would have run something like this:

(1) Scimitar Assault Bomber

(2) Xg-1 Starwing

(3) TIE Interdictor Punisher

(4) No New Imperial Ship

(5) Missile Boat

But for some reason they didn't consult me.

Vorpal, how could you want the Scimitar? How?

Some people just foolishly want ships with actual lore rather than tech tree filler designed by kindergarteners for a mediocre video game.

K-Wing!!! Yes!! Rebels Unite!

*Rebel high five*

I don't think the K-wing'll be able to get three attack. It's meant to do most of its damage via inarc ordnance attacks. It's a Superbomber.

The primary is a tailgun for shooting back at attackers, not its main oomph-gun.

Guy from our local X-Wing group was actually in the 2nd row, and got some much better pictures.

Stats are:

TIE: Bowelmovement

Attack: 2

Agility: 1

Hull: 6

Shields: 3

(Target lock, focus, boost)

Kihraxz

Attack: 3

Agility: 2

Hull: 4

Shields: 1

(Target lock, focus)

Krap-Wing

Attack: 2

Agility: 1

Hull: 5

Shields: 4

(Target lock, focus, and a new action)

Hounds Tooth:

Attack: 3

Agility: 1

Hull: 6

Shields: 6

(Target lock, focus)

News and analysis from HNN:

Rebellion's Authentic Intent Revealed

I love those, although you should have mentioned the Empire will be responding by quadrupling its own emergency aid.

The Scimitar's lore is Thrawn doing some Mary Sueing. The Interdictor FFG fleshed out as actually filling a missing role in the Imperial military doctrine: a long range bomber.

Well, it's good to know I won't need to make any purchases for the next few months from FFG at any rate.

Why on earth does the Punisher have boost? That is flat out stupid. This deal is getting worse all the time.

Good idea!

Oh, the ships are in the case at the booth now!

Edit: the Punisher is fat - it looks twice as big as a regular bomber. The K-Wing, while fugly as all get out on paper, is an amazingly detailed model. I'm actually halfway sold on it now.

Doesn't that Scum fighter look like your Dunelizard?

Just models, or cardboard too?
