N00b with a Core Set - 180pt Build for a Tourney Tomorrow - Go!

By macmastermind, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So, I've got a tournament tomorrow and I've played only one game thus far - without any upgrades or obstacles. Bought my single core set on Sunday. I need a list. 180pts.

Go!

:)

Em... faction?

:)

I have no idea which is better in Armada and I have no personal preference. If you ask me about Imperial Assault, I say imperials all the way. X-Wing, I'm probably going rebels. Because I have experience in those games.

I won my only game running the 'learn to play' imp list with no upgrades and no obstacles and no objectives. Just a straight-up rules tutorial. I don't have time to test a bunch of stuff before tomorrow afternoon, so I'm soliciting help.

I'm going to run one or two games tonight to get used to things, but I was leaning on you guys to throw me a solid core set 180pt list (whichever one you think is strongest, and what to keep in mind while running it)...

A list is nothing if you can't use it. You might as well just build a list and go with it for now. Practice practice practice. =)

...and that's what I did. Did pretty well - I picked up a second core set and ran 2 Corvette A's with Luke and 2 X-Wing squadrons. Had a LOT of trouble with tanking VSDs, and I had no idea what any of the scenario cards did, so it was a blind day for me.

But it was fun, and that's a good thing with a new game I know nothing about. The only problem I had was the 45-minute time limits that didn't allow 2 of my games past round 4 (because we are all new at this game). I would have liked more time to make better decisions, but there it is...

Fun game. Looking forward to the 300pt build...
