Eh, I've thought about that, but I don't see why they would bother. Drumming up hype for new stuff earlier seems to me like it would have a greater impact on sales overall, even if they have to suffer through we dedicated forum fans complaining about too much info. I know I went out and bought a third TIE/ad shortly after the Raider announcement, for example; I wasn't going to wait for the Raider to drop first, especially in case there's a stock shortage again by that point.

Because where would we be without DRAMA?!

The game is doing fine. FFG has the Raider planned, and there's also the "leak" from Alex Davy about upcoming waves. Then there's the fact that X-wing is some absurd portion of FFG's sales. Then there's the fact that there's a whole new batch of canon coming in December, and we know for sure that FFG's license covers the new trilogy.
I'm not sure what FFG is waiting for, or why. But the game is in good shape regardless of whether or not we get a big announcement today.
They're probably waiting for the spoiled T70 and whatnot from yesterday.
Well, it isn't going to be on the StarWars.com live feed. So, to twitter to find out about what is going on in the presentation.

Wave 1: Announced April 2012. Released 5 months later.
Wave 2: Announced at Wave 1 release. Released 5 months later.
Wave 3: Announced 2 months after Wave 2 release. Released 4 months later.
Wave 4: Announced 4 months after Wave 3 release. Released 4 months later
Wave 5: Announced at wave 4 release. Released 5 months later.
Wave 6: Announced 3 months prior to Wave 5 release. Released 6 months later.
Wave 7: Announcement at least 2 months after Wave 6 release.
If this is accurate it looks like we might have 1-2 months before we should "expect" an announcement.

Am I wrong that we know 2 more waves of Armada than we do X-wing? 4 more expansions for SW, and 3-5 more products for IA...

Not only for taking the time to post, but also for making a clear distinction between the facts (they said nothing concrete) and your impressions (maybe news soon). Both of those are fun to hear, but keeping them separated helps control the mutating rumors.

The big merch push for Episode 7 starts in September for toys, clothes, etc. Most likely had to wait until Disney gave the ok to talk about tie in products.
My guess is maybe an Episode 7 starter: new TIEs, X-Wing with updated pilots and maybe a new Falcon.

I don't think that was their intent, if you analyse the SKU numbers it looks like the model was Wave, Huge Ship, Wave, Ace Pack, repeat. Wave 4 was probably meant to be January 2014, Wave 5 in Summer 2014 and Wave 6 in Christmas 2015. But plans don't survive contact with the enemy. There was nothing between Summer 2013 and Summer 2014 but Imperial Aces, and then everything came out at once.
Looks to be back on track though, if you expect Wave VII for GenCon, an Ace Pack in Autumn and Wave 8 in Q1 2016, which would conveniently line up with a certain film.

A senior VP, a guy who used to work on X-wing(is it him that moved to Armada?), an artist and a freelance writer from the RPG books. Though it does say "panelists include" so who knows.
well hopefully we will know more in a couple of hours.
