Definitely looking like we will have plenty of fodder for more waves with Episode VII! So far, it's looking like:

—New X-Wings

—New TIE Fighters (with or without turrets?!)

—New shuttle thingy, sort of a two-wing Lambda-class with similar BIG guns at the wing joints

—Troop transport thing from the trailer, looks like it could be about the size of the HWK-290

What are we thinking? Wave VIII? Due out around November/December like Wave V last year?

Don't forget, the new YT-1300 dish!

And before we start saying TIEs with turrets, not how high up it was. It wouldn't clear the wing/panel things. Think of it more as a tail-gun.

I'd be okay with a heavy TIE with an auxiliary arc. The spiritual son of the TIE Advanced perhaps?

And how could I forget the new dish on the Falcon!

I think we've got a Wave VII before any Episode 7 stuff. By usual FFG release schedules it's Wave 8 that coincides.

Wondering what these ships escorting the new shuttle are:

They don't look very sleek or "fighter-y" to me, as I would expect of an escort.

Personally, I rather doubt that we'll be getting any of the new TIEs, X-wings or Lambdas any time soon, unless there is something to make them seriously different from what they already are. If there are any legitimately new ships, those I would expect (The aforementioned escort might fill the bill).

I'm looking forward to the escort ships there; if I had to guess I would say it's the ship that the troopers are all about to jump out of in the first teaser. Hoping it has some decent specs!

But yeah, I'm hoping we see these for Wave VIII, and the X and TIE could have updated stats/prices/pilots perhaps? Definitely want a PS8 or 9 Poe Dameron, Oscar Isaac seems thrilled about playing him.

I mean, I understand what you're saying from a gameplay perspective ... totally.

But do you seriously think that FFG will not release new models from the new movies, even if they're fundamentally the same stat-wise? (Which they're unlikely to be - see other threads re: rear arc firing TIEs and T-70 X-Wings)

From a marketing and business perspective it is pretty much obligatory, and may even be required under their newly extended licensing terms.

Even all of that aside, who's not going to want to see the new designs on the table in miniature form?

Tomorrow. Why else would they wait until the day after Disney spoiled them?
