I know that Richard has stated that a player may have multiple heroes, but can only field one at a time.

Does this apply to having an Advisor on your War Council? In other words, can a single player have a Hero in the battle and an Advisor on his War Council during the same adventure?

Officially, you're supposed to not bring out a new hero until the one on the council has retired. That being said, I think Richard has said to feel free to play it differently if you wish, you can bring out a new hero at any time.

Your advisor counts as your 1 hero. You can choose to not use your advisor and use another hero before he retires. In this way you can develop multiple heroes into advisors or choose to use a hero when you feel it would be more beneficial than an advisor.
