Tacticians on a Decimator

I'm toying with the idea of using multiple Tacticians on a Decimator to pile the stress on enemy ships. I've come up with this list:

RA Chiraneau with Vet Instincts, Proximity mines, 2x Tacticians, Gunner, Flechette Torps, Dauntless title and Munitions Failsafe.

Soontir Fel with Royal Guard Title, Push the Limits, Autothrusters and Stealth Device

The aim is to cause 4-5 stress on an enemy ship with the Decimator and then let Soontir finish it off.

Flechette Torpedoes still cause stress even if they don't hit, which means three stress plus 2 more for gunner attack. If hull value is 5+ I'll use primary weapon to attack.

Interesting build to say the least. Digging the concept of having the Decimator stress down a target, painting it for Fel's mop-up job.

Though since Tactician requires your target to be in your arc (and only at Range 2, not closer or further), it does take away from the fact that your Decimator has a turret. Flechette Torpedo spamming works wonders, so long as the target dodges them. One hit and that stress maker is out. Granted, you just need the one good round of stressing to keep the double stress coming, since you'll be able to somewhat predict your enemy's movements based on that particular ship's green maneuvers.

I'm intrigued. Keep us posted on how well this works.

I run RAC with VI,gunner,2xtactician, and engine with Echo as escort before wave 6 hit.

It worked really well. Hit Fel for 4 stress early on and he flew off somewhere to clear it which took him out of the fight. Then did it again later and that was the end of him.

You really need the engine upgrade and VI to be able to get that range 2 front arc shot.

I tried it today with good results. Also tried it with Whisper instead of Soontir and it worked even better. New decloak rules seem to work just as well.

Just remember, the Decimator isn't quite as maneuverable as a YT, and you have to be pointing at your target for tactician to trigger
