Playing Locations as Attachment?

By chrassos, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

what is it good for playing a location like "Khal Drogo´s Tent" as an attachment????

do i have the choice between:

either i play it as location and the card now counts as a location or if i play it as an attachment it count as an attachment.

so my enemy must react diffrent on that card.

or does the card count as both when i play it as attachment????

what would that be good for????

im counting on you

If it is played as an attachment, it has to be dealt with as an attachment - and only as an attachment. Same if you play it as a location.

So whether or not you want to play it as an attachment or location will probably depend on who you are playing against. For example, if you are playing against a Targaryen player, who is likely to have a whole bunch of "discard an attachment" effects, you will probably be safer playing the card as a location. There is less chance that your opponent will be able to discard you gold/influence.

But if are playing against a Baratheon player who you know likes to win Power challenges and play "Support of the Kingdom" (which takes control of locations that produce gold and/or influence), you'd be safer playing the card as an attachment, which the event can't touch. If you have people that like to play the plot card "Fleeing to the Wall," the card might be safer as an attachment, too.
