Just starting out, lots of questions!

By Zacky Midnight, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Played quite a bit with a friend over the weekend and I really like this game...now for some questions

1. Would it be feasible for me to solo through a campaign playing as rebel and imperial? I would obviously just try to make the best move for each side. Any one with experience with this?

2. is there a card for aftermath? I can't find mine but I don't think I lose it...

3. Black uniform for regular officer and grey for the elite?

4. Do any rebel troopers have facial hair? I couldn't find any in source material

5. What color for elite royal? I was thinking of making them "shadow guards" black with red visor...but would a red with gold trim around the helmet be better?

6. Storm troopers. I'm going to make one group battered and dirty and one pristine. Which should the elite group be?

7. Best place in the house to store paints? (temperature wise)

8. Can Fenn Havoc shot or Mak's ability target terminals or just other figures?

9. what is the best thing to spend influence on?

10. Are single color jump suits "canon" for the trandos or is that just what bossk wears?

Thanks!

1. Would it be feasible for me to solo through a campaign playing as rebel and imperial?

Sure, you lose some of the surprise because you know what is going to happen. But there's no reason you can't do it. If you're not playing Imperials, then you may spoil some of the missions.

2. is there a card for aftermath?

I'm not sure, but there is the crawl page in the book I think that's the 'card' for Aftermath. By the way someone did a video of the crawl and it's on youtube.

3. Black uniform for regular officer and grey for the elite?

Up to you. But the black uniform is Stormtrooper officers and thats the one I picked for the elite, made the gray ones the regular versions as they're just Naval officers.

4. Do any rebel troopers have facial hair?

None that I saw, but that doesn't mean none don't.

5. What color for elite royal?

They're royal guards, so the should be royal guard red IMO. They may make shadow guards at some point. But it's up to you, your mini's so you paint them how ever you wish. :)

6. Which should the elite group be?

IMO the elites should be the ones in pristine armor. Elite troops take very good care of their equipment.

7. Best place in the house to store paints? (temperature wise)

Near where you paint. :) Only thing I can think of is avoid direct sunlight.

10. Are single color jump suits "canon" for the trandos or is that just what bossk wears?

Just what Bossk wears, there's a mini-arc in the Clone Wars cartoon and they weren't all wearing single colored outfits.

Awesome answers! Thank you very much.

I will make the royal guard elite red, I just need to think of a way to distinguish him :-)

7. Best place in the house to store paints? (temperature wise)

Avoid temperature extremes. Any prolonged exposure below 55°F or above 90°F will start to affect the paint itself. Never leave your paints in your car on a hot day. Or in your trunk over the weekend while it is below zero. I learned both those lessons the hard way.

Hi again Zacky!

What I do to distinguish my groups is best described in picture.

If you zoom in on the imperials it'll make more sesne I basically paint all my minis then paint the ring around them a generic color (I make the metallicy by mixing some red, green or blue with leadbelcher.) Then I sleeve all my command cards with properly sized FFG sleeves and put a second glossy LCG sized sleeve on the deployment card with the matching color. This way if I ever get a second core and want to run 2 elite trandos I don't have to paint them differently, I just sleeve the elite trando cards with the appropriate sleeve color to match the rim. I hope this makes sense.

oh im totally going to do the ring. I also wanted to distinguish them by their miniatures just for fun

Trandos - green skin regular , yellow skin elite

storms- scuffed armor regular, perfect armor elite

things like that. :-)

Yeah I painted my storm troopers one shoulder pad.

All I have left for imperials/scum is Trandoshans which I plan to do this weekend I'll have to do a photo shoot after. ;)

And I shamelessly copied KennedyHawk's idea for my set. It is AMAZING! Red/Blue/Green is very easy for unit distinction, and if you end up scooping up more models for skirmish, Orange/Yellow/Purple work just as well (Red and Orange are for your Elite groups).

Consider it a downpayment for future Fizzgrids.
