Got inspired by the repaints in this forum and other places on the net so I thought I'd try my hand at giving my third A-Wing a Green Squadron inspired repaint and faint engine glow.

I don't have a lot of experience with freehand, so with that in mind I didn't attempt any rebel insignia or Green Squadron logo decals, but maybe once my confidence level goes up I'll revisit this guy.

Good looking repaint! I just did a Green Squadron variant myself and discovered that the regular red A-Wings are, in fact, green. Seriously.

No, actually seriously, you shouldn't feel constrained in any way—I still think it makes perfect sense to paint a green squadron A-Wing green. I just got such a kick out of TIE Pilot's post this morning that I had to share it.

If I recall correctly, the props were green initially, but didn't photograph well on the green screen. In fact, I believe Red Sqd from Ep IV was initially Blue Sqd, but had the same problem. I'm sure someone else can chime in & clarify/confirm that.

The explanation with the green screen makes sense. I guess that also explains why there were no blue A-Wings in RotJ when the original art for it reportedly showed the ship in a blue colorway similar if not identical to the Prototype.

Someone who knows better feel free to correct me if I'm totally wrong.
