Ive flown the top one with great success but with auto thrusters around i think i need either luke or gunner on the falcon.

yeah, i know. But this was an attempt to make a more tanky list that can dish out a lot of dam. i Mean, you can basically joust a swarm with this. But at the end of the day engine is probably necessary. does that mean predator or AS has to go?

i always flew z´s up until recently when i swapped to b´s. Whats the best ship to fly alongside chewie in the current meta?

Agree, all the big ships do really well with that extra boost. Especially Dash Rendar.

I really like your second option. Like you mention, Luke will help a lot and paired with Predator damage will get through. I've flown something similar at a tournament:

Very efficient. The Bs usually go down at some point, but not before hitting hard. Then, Chewie cleans up whatever's left! :-)

Maybe another option to benefit from the extra maneuverability that Engine Upgrade gives:

So, double Focus (one becomes an Evade from Jan) + Boost with PTL. Or double Focus (one becomes an Evade from Jan) + Evade from MF. Should be tough to take down.

I think I prefer this one actually. I like having a Dagger and a Blue instead of two Blue, since Predator is popular and so effective against PS1-2.

yeah but thing is if I'm not going for a gunner, then i know what to take; two b´s with AS. that list kicks ass. my problem is, that i fear that list is no longer viable due to auto thruster/stealth fel and dub ig88 to some exent. I think the list needs gunner or luke to make it viable. ptl, jan and all that stuff won't solve that thruster problem. So if i need luke or gunner i can't get the two AS b´s. do i go for a tanked corran (boring and a bit fragile) or do i go for two naked b´s or three talas plus a shield upgrade/engine for chewie?

if I'm wrong about the luke/gunner thing then please tell me. then ill go back to flying AS b´s and being happy : )

Since gencon. My fluff has changed here and there between 3 z's, 2 blues and Vrill. But my record since running these has been:

Nationals- 18th

Worlds- top 16

5 Store championships in 4 states: 2nd (x2), top 8 (x3)

but would you still play chewie without gunner or luke? i mean, you'll statistically never hit soontir stealth/thrusters unless he bumps or hits a stone.

i agree. imho, that setup for chewie is the strongest and most efficient (this can be discussed) ship in the game right now, and i can't decide on the best escort for him in the current meta. I'm thinking maybe 3 talas and a shield upgrade for chewie. two naked b´s are good too.

No, Luke and predator make me not care about taking the evade action. And when shooting at a decimator and you roll blank blank hit, predatoring the one hit to get the Luke shot is always the better option. So they all work together in helping me live by negating and dealing damage.

I figure with Predator and a Focus, you're pretty much going to get 2-3 hits every time. I landed 4 damage consistently from range 1, like maybe 3 out of 4.

To each its own, but when fighting 3+ evade ships, or falcons that can negate 2+ damage, the reroll pays for itself in spades at a tournament.
