Ivy's Switching weapon styles is a really strong card. I was wondering if there was any way to negate the Ivy F on the card?
Is there a way to stop Ivy's F on Switching weapon styles
right now there is no action negation, so the only ways to stop the ivy F on SwS is proficient sniper {RFG them} or kill her before she can play it or cause ivy to discard them.
As of right now, in NEWFS, no. There are, however, ways to shut down the constant attacks.
Know When to Talk a couple of times, and Ivy can't keep up the pressure.
Man Behind the Mask has no minimum, so once you hit Desperation, you can stop some, if not all, of the incomming damage.
Ka Technique triggers off of 'this attack,' so you can use it to blank her Drossel, Robes, Castle-Twilight, etc.
A Breaker, like Leg Slash, can make the Ivy player think twice about dropping another attack, but not a real fix.
There is no outright fix currently, mainly because cancels are scarce. Really, the only cancel that can help is MAC, to stop the chaining, but that is only really a stall.

Playing Rashotep to blank ivy so they cant draw more attacks...
Or playing know when to talk with breaker blocks will stop them from passing checks
Power of the Edge is still coming back, right?
If so, then that stops SWS.
In my Astrid I usually use the valkyrias shield to survive the first attacks, then when they have 4-5 attacks, use the breaker ability and block their attack and reversal.
Since switching weapon styles does not remove progressive diff on blocks (or does it count when they block with attacks?) she usually can not block and will take a huge hit ^^
With SWS in play, the non-progressive deal affects all attacks played, even as blocks.
But I think what everyone has agreed is that SWS cannot currently be canceled, but the effects can definitely be disrupted.

Play shadow flare as a block, which is kinda like a breaker 1 to everything

yeah, including your next block. There is a reason the block on that card is one of the worst in the game.
So you stop trying to block with it.
I like the Shield bit. Shield a Leg Slash (or another Shield) block for Breaker 4 (or 3). Good luck checking at +4 difficulty. And yes, I am reversaling (because its Astrid, the only character that should have the shield in her deck).

Mulciber113's favorite method for stopping Ivy. He'll block and give a Breaker:4... but it's not much of a change if you're playing a Cross Style Madness later.
Ka Technique works, Rashotep works, Know When to Talk would work if people used it (amazing card that stops Combo)...
Or, here's a doozy. Kill her before she kills you. Relying on the action card to kill is a crapshoot, as it will basically then be left to luck to have the action and a suitable amount of attacks in hand, especially because people refuse to run more attacks.
And Shadow Flare as a block is only good in one character, and he's the one in the picture. A committed Cervantes can just as easily make the -1 into a 0 so your check is true...
Or use Unknown Son when you need to block to remove it from the game and stop the hack for your block.
Martial Arts Champion will help disrupt her momentum too.
That's true, but it would be donright foolish to simply rely on her character to draw you cards; Razor's Bite + Hunt for Jin, Hoping for the Best + Hunt for Jin, Recon + Hunt for Jin, Fatherly Love, Temporary Being, Researching Anywhere...
Stand Off usually makes it hard for her to do anything as well...

blocking with Shadow Flare has won me games.
also, Lu Chen's stuff would add to the disruption of her rhythm as well. It becomes difficult to play cards with an additional 3-4 cards adding to progressive difficulty.
If you're in Desperation and have a few Man Behind the Mask down, she looks a lot easier to deal with
But I'd also use the Shadow Flare block tech. Use it early, and Miss SM won't go very far...
