Range ruler would be nice thank you
Could be separate for both sides.
I doubt the measurement tool translates well to acrylic form due to material issues.

I also hope a 3rd party ruler has overlays that show 'distance X plus the length of distance 1' for each possible distance, since the distance amounts aren't all the same. More often than not, you're moving your squadrons with the intent to be in firing range of something, so having information on movement + firing distance would let you plan your squadron movement without having to measure twice.
I already sat and figured out a comparison to ship movement, squadron movement and ranges. But a ruler with all three would be nice
I'd immediately buy this.
A quick google search shows that CorSec Engineering makes a set, not seeing any others that make them yet

Wouldn't that be considered illegal under the triangulation section of the tournament rules? (p.4 Additional Tournament Rules, Measuring paragraph 2)
i like these, i wonder if they'll ever do some of the actual fighter dials (generic) or even so far as to do the hero/generic flip coins somehow. i guess it would be hard to make out the art/picture if it was engraved.
may just need some washers like others have mentioned to avoid wear and tear for them.
eitherway, glad some accessories are showing up.

From what I see there it looks like using multiple rulers at once is definitely against tournament rules, but I don't see anything about a marked up single ruler. I wouldn't be surprised if that's also outlawed, but I'm more interested in casual play than in tournaments, so convenience is going to trump tournament compatibility for my sessions.
good to see that replacement will be available once the cardboard wears.
i would like to see a replicate of the maneuver tool made in aluminium or stainless steel because the current plastic one just wiggles so much. Even if its just the gear and nose parts because thats where it wiggles and wears in metal and a harder plastic like acryl in between.
Edited by madtulipSo the range ruler is meant to be 12" in length, that much you can get from the setup rules. Anyone know the 'official' length of the distances and ranges? I'm assuming its all in inches since the length is in inches.

I'm in deep, passionate love with that idea.
The corsec stuff is pretty solid.
Applied Perspective has some stuff as well...

Yah, but I have access to a laser cutter. I want to make rulers for each range bracket so I can fit them in tighter spots.
Is there no "shapeways" style site for lasercutting acrylics?

Oh sure, quite a few.
http://www.ponoko.com/laser-cutting is one of the bigger ones.
Some places charge plastic+cutting time. Others are a flat rate. Which one is better depends on how complex your part is.
Corsec and Applied seem to be the first. I am sure when Greenman gets out from under his gi-normous kickstarter he will design some too. The Etsy shop I get my shield tokens doesn't have anything yet either...
