"Not-so-Fat Falcon" - With A-Wing support

By FlyingAnchors, in X-Wing Squad Lists

This is a build I have been putting together for possible future purchasing. This build was meant for casual fun, but the more I look at it the more I am uncertain if this isn't terribly broken(Or so I think, not having the models/cards to playtest with yet just makes it a theory).

CHEWIE+JAKE+GREEN

100 points

PILOTS

Chewbacca (49)
YT-1300 (42), Han Solo (2), Millennium Falcon (1), Engine Upgrade (4)

Jake Farrell (27)
A-Wing (24), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Chardaan Refit (-2), Determination (1), Hull Upgrade (3), Calculation (1)

Green Squadron Pilot (24)
A-Wing (19), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Chardaan Refit (-2), Wingman (2), Hull Upgrade (3), Squad Leader (2)

Basically the theory is that Chewie and Han dart around the map (using boost) and go for an evade token when coming under fire, and try to strike hard against opponents with Hans ability. This relies less on re-rolls and more about chance, in true smuggler fashion.

Jake is meant to soak damage and get in close so he can make use of his calculation talent.

The Green Squadron pilot is supposed to follow Jake around in formation and support him.

As this is my first squadron build I do have some questions:

Am I allowed to take multiples of the Awing testpilot/ Chardaan refit?

Can I take the Han Solo crew skill on the falcon, or is it a Tanitive 4 only card?

So what do you guys think?

To answer both of your questions: absolutely. If the cards were restricted in those ways, they would say so.

And your build is not broken, at all. Chewie is solid, but the A-wings... well, they're not brilliant. Squad Leader is rather pointless since you need to be of higher PS than your target, and without Push the Limit both ships will not be anywhere near their full potential.

If you were looking to make the list better, I would go with this on the A-wings:

Jake Farrell (28)

A-wing (24), A-wing Test Pilot (0), Chardaan Refit (-2), Push the Limit (3), Autothrusters (2), Veteran Instincts (1)

Green Squadron Pilot (22)

A-wing (19), Chardaan Refit (-2), Push the Limit (3), Autothrusters (2)

Both ships can Push the Limit whenever they need to (which lets Jake perform 3 actions so long as you Focus) and can chase turreted ships all day without fear. They'd still suffer for damage output, though, which is the bane of A-wing pilots everywhere. Possibly even better would be to drop the Green to a Prototype Pilot and spend the points on an Elite Pilot Talent and another Crew for Chewie.

EDIT: Learn to spell, Draco...

If you were looking to make the list bitter, I would go with this on the A-wings:

That sounds good, thank you.
