SW Celebration Anaheim

Anybody going?

Also, I've never been to one but I understand they sell products there that might otherwise be yet released (Armada) or out of stock (B-wings). If so, are they sold full MSRP? I'd love to get some things that are hard to find but, gosh, if they're priced some 30% more I might have to just gander. Anybody who has bought items from FFG at Gencon know how they price things?

I'll be there on Friday. Hoping they have a Raider or two, but I'm not holding my breath.

They always sell thing at full retail at GenCon.

My local store had at least 5 or 6 boxes of armada. Also I will be at the celebration as well but only Thursday. Hoping for that raider as well. It must be there, please ffg read this post and have some raiders there!

****. =(

Though it is their right and what I expected.

If I remember right distributors are legally required to sell at retail. I don't remember the exact reasoning I just remember when I worked at a Wizards of the cost store magic was never allowed to go on sale for legal reason. Something to do with unfair consumer practices. I think Games workshop got in big legal trouble for it a few years ago.

I think the point is just that FFG does not want to undercut their own distributors. If they sell at less than MSRP, what message does that send to their distributors and retailers?

This. It shows support for the FLGS that runs tournaments and teaches the game to new players who will then need more product. People at conventions are already hard core, either for that subject (Celebration) or for gaming (GenCon). People who attend conventions know the MSRP and are willing to pay for it. It also means a bigger profit margin for FFG and the ability to pay for the booth space and demo staff.

Sad that I will br missing Tuesday but I'll be there the rest of the weekend. Glad I was able to touch up my armor before the con, really pulled it together.
