Quest rule question - A Fat Goblin

By Guillaumericher, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I've played for the first time A Fat Golbin quest as a hero last Saturday and I noticed that the special rule is a little vague in regards with the goblin carrying the crop back to the cave.

So the question is:

When a goblin carrying a crop reaches the Exit tile. Does it have to leave the game board to "bring the crop back to the cave" or does it just drop it from the Exit Tile?

If the goblin has to leave the board, it will count as an available Reinforcement at the start of the OL turn.

Has this already been discussed and clarified?

I need to look at my quest guide to see which is the case, but if:

it says "moves off the map while carrying" it has to leave the map.

it says "as an action while in a particular space" it does not leave the map.

Any goblins not on the map can be reinforced, no matter why they left the map- the only exemption to this is if they have been replaced by an agent, in which case you should refer to those rules.

it says 'Move off the map through the exit'. So basically, when a goblin reaches the last 2 spaces of the exit tile, he can use 1 movement point to move off the map (see rules pg. 9 'moving of the map).

At that point place the objective token in the overlord area, and place the goblin next to the board, as he is no longer on the map.

At this point, the overlord has one less goblin on the map than allowed by 'group limits', so he can use that goblin to reinforce at the point when the quest allows him to reinforce.

That is what I was arguing about with the OL.

If it costs a reinforcement to add the goblin on the map and another goblin was kill on the hero turn, it is one less goblin to worry about.

In this case, it was the difference between a 2 crop tie and 3 crops in favor of the heroes.
