Sept Prize Support (AKA WTF!!!!)

By Ender Dragon, in UFS General Discussion

Remember when I used to complain about prize support?

At least that was valid, because it was the same situation as Runner's, we had none.

Complaining you get more than what you normally would get just because it's not legal in one format? Conceited and idiotic.

I wish i could complaint about that too. I'm in that mood right now. :(

For the people that have had problems with their prize support, do you report your events? I'm not sure if they even check to see if people report their events anymore but I know they use to, and if you didn't report your events you wouldn't get support. I've never had a problem with prize support in a long time and I report all my events. In fact the only reason I do is because I see a lot of people complain that they don't get prize support and just in case they are still checking I report my events. I've noticed quite a few people do not report their events. Now I'm not saying this is why you don't get prize support I'm just saying maybe that is the reason you might not be getting it. I'm also kind of curious about if they even check or if I just waste my time reporting my events.

One thing you can do is to have each player buy a standard pack as an "entry fee," then take the R/URs in those packs and have them doled out as part of the prize support (winner gets first pick, etc.) in addition to the Astrids and Jins. Let them keep the commons/uncommons, or if anybody doesn't need them you can add those in as a pile, or just give them to the nearest newbie or something. It may not be as nice as having fully free tourneys with prizes, but it gives you something relevant to play for if that's what you need.

The store already charges 7.50 for 2 packs as an entry fee.

Well then, crack them open and play for first picks of the rares. Obviously it'd be better if you were getting more standard support from ffg, but that doesn't mean you can't try to do something else to help the situation.

Is that maybe why your players aren't coming out?

I remember a store that charged 6$ and all you got was a pack. If that.

Just wondering does anyone know Steve's Email so I may contact him(or whoever I need to contact about prize support) because both me and my players are not happy with this prize support =/

If something isn't done I may start holding less tournies simply because no one wants the promos that will be left over. Right now I am just handing out Jin's and Astrids but those will run out soon =/

Website's contact us link is:

Otherwise, OP Site lists contact addresses for Scouts to email regarding prize support issues.

I tried calling FFG yesterday, twice. I got hung up on once, after I mentioned why I was calling, and the second time, no one answered.

I would have been at Worlds, but Madden 2010 released on the 14th, and working at a video game retailer, we can't get the day off.

Yes, I started a thread complaining about something. But unlike most threads where people complain about cards that they think are too good, or they just can't find a way to play around, I am talking about something FFG is directly doing that is potentially detrimental to this game. I had 0 people show up at my tournament today, no one wants the prize support, none of them are willing to play when the chances they will get Astrid or Jin is low, and the chance they will get a Legacy card is very high.

Give out more Jins/Astrids, not just to the top ranked players.

And where are we going to get the extra Jins/Astrids to do this? We get 24 total for the month, and assuming just 4 events, that's 6 per event. Ideally we have more then 6 players in a tournament. Worse, everyone wants 4 of them, cause they're stackable. Learn to math.

we got a small play group here. BUT in anycase if you give it to lower ranked
A. It will allow more casual players to have trading fodder?
B. Get those casual players that want certain characters to come back
C. Who cares if you piss off the best play (that probably has all the cards needed + can trade if he really needs to)

But to be honest our playgroup is small enough to usually now give alway 4 to each player (set of players as many of us share cards with one another) or 1 copy to each person.

Also another thing we practiced was if one person won too many times in a row (back when they sometimes only sent 1-2 copies of a really cool new character) They would be dropped a few ranks lower. Everyone was okay with it!

To be honest there was a while where i was always last and I just wanted to pick first once in a while and I kinda wanted to quit because the best player gets the best cards leaving scraps for others.
