You've clearly not played 40k where a normal game runs 2 hours or more.

Timer starts after both players have set..."average" is about 45 minutes (for the games I have played). Quickest game was 18 minutes, longest was 75 minutes.

Depends on how many ships are flown. Normally I fly three ships because I only have an hour lunch. We normally finish in about 45-50 minutes.

Anywhere between 1 and 2 hours for me. 2 hours is more when it is to the last ships death. 1 hour is more if it's a one sided game and we might finish it early.

1.5 to 2 hours normally. This includes casual setup, cleanup, and squad tweaking.

Normal game night is around 1-2 hours. We talk between our game and the rest. New guys show up. People walk up and look interested. Wives phone call us. We take our time. No rushing.

We usually do 2 on 2 with 100 points. Including set up and their smoke breaks, it takes us around 2 hours.

The on the box time is only for the core set like 30 vs 30 points. All my other games have taken about 60 to 75 min and including set up and hanging out and dismantling usually 2 or 3 hours. Sometimes enough time for a second game.

In a 60 minute per round tournament, I can usually finish before time roughly half the time, depending on squads used, opponents and how hard I have to think given the board status.

In a casual game gainst experienced players, it can be anything between 30 to 70 minutes usually.

Against newer players, it's usually 70 to 90 minutes.

Had a game tonight faced duel aggressors with me using imps lasted 20 minutes before my mate conceded was brutal so we did a Milligan next match lasted longer but ended the same.

Yea, we played two epic games (one with the Tantive and the other with the space whale) and they were both easily 5+ hours.

HOWEVER, I highly advise giving the campaign missions a shot. Objectives make Epic games a lot more interesting and cut down the playtime.

But our normal 100 point skirmishes take 90 minutes. Come on people, socialize already. Take some time to watch the movie in the background.
