MC League

Is anyone doing this? How many players do you have lined up? Did you start last week, or are you starting this week? We haven't heard any news about it in a while, so I'm just grasping at straws here.

Locally, there are only two of us willing to actually commit to one day during the week, which was Thursdays. We're hoping to get a couple more by this Thursday, but we'll see... it's been a real challenge.

Assuming the OP kit comes in this week we are planning on Thursday. I have a feeling that I will be the only one who shows up though. If that happens the owner said he would like to learn how to play.

Our store has signed in on OP, but i dont know if/when our store manager has/will pay for the kit!?

Ordered the OP kit today from my LGS and both myself and the owner were kind of puzzled when we were told for 32 bucks we get 3 maps and 2 cards... Wondering whats in them...when they do come we will begin playing some OP games here in sheboygan, WI

I think it comes with some other stuff too... 6 participation patches, at least. I can't remember what else.

Judging from that number, I figure 6 is the ideal amount of players for the league, but we can't get the participation in my area yet. If nothing else, we'll just see what we can do with two or three players.

Glad to hear some of you are also planning to run this. Post some battle reports!

At The Source in MN, we're looking at starting up this coming Monday the 8th. Not sure yet how many players we will have, probably between 4 and 6. With everything else going on we are thinking we will meet every other week so we'll see how it goes with the 6 week format to meet on a limited basis like that.

In Generación-X (Spain) we're planning in running a league too. I think I'll have 4 players or so, and I hope my boss will let me play too llorando.gif

I just talked to the owner at my LGS and it doesn't look like the OP kit will be in, but I am still planning on heading down there to demo the game. Its Heroclix night so maybe I will be able to get some of those kids to try it out. If not I will still show the owner how to play. I hope we can start something with the OP by next week.

Yeah, I don't think think my LGS has it in either. But three of us have planned on playing anyway, so we'll still go out and have a good time.

Ah, how i just love them delays...

Sometimes living outside US is just great! lengua.gif

My cousin and I demo'd the game last night and unfortunately there was not much interest. The owner said he would have the OP kit in next Monday so we plan on starting next week. Although with only 2 possibly 3 players I am not sure what we will be able to do.

Since we don't know anything about how the league is supposed to be set up, we just had a 6/6/6 throwdown between an Algeroth army and a Bauhaus army. I sat out and worked on my Ilian list, and helped with rules when necessary. It was extremely close, coming down to the last model, but Algeroth pulled off the victory.

I recorded the results so that we could possibly count it as the first league game, if it fits with whatever requirements the league kit defines.

Now that I know more about the game and my force choice, I won't make the same mistakes I did. I look forward to getting in some more games Nullstate

Yeah! Good to see you here on the boards. :)

Hope to get my league kit today. at least two of my players want to play in the league, so...why not. ;)
