My friend and I were playing a game and we can up with a Tarkin question.

His ability says "At the start of each ship phase you may choose 1 command. Each friendly ship gains a command token matching that command."

Our question is does this happen before you reveal a command dial?

If so can you have your ships gain say an engineering token then reveal a squadron command?

It happens at the beginning of each round, so yes it happens before dials are revealed.

Your ships can gain any token you wish, it just has to be the same one on each ship.

I was actually surprised at Tarkin's the first time I read it. I had expected something like, "Reveal your command dial, each ship on your side gets a token matching that command." But nope, he just picks a command before anything even activates.and everyone on your side gets a token for it.
